I'm not sure how many of you are into hip hop, but I just released a new record today called "Pay Attention!". It's a collaboration with a producer from Italy named Jammineye...he makes the beats, I rap, yada yada.
I'm from West Chester, born and bred Flyers fan. I've been living in Pittsburgh for almost 5 years now and I take it upon myself to try and shove orange and black down peoples' throats as much as possible. This playoff run is going to be absolute war out here, and I couldn't be more excited.
I'll have my playoff anthem ready to go before the series starts...if all goes according to plan, you'll hear about it. Can't have my favorite team represented by a Pittsburgh MC...

Thanks guys, really not trying to spam but I feel like this is somewhat relevant to the team and this thread!
Like the beats and your flow. Good stuff. Best of luck out there during this series. Is this your first release, and is this just a hobby or are you pursuing it as a career?

Appreciate it man. This is actually my fifth release (and fourth in the last 14 months). The page I linked to also has links for 3 of my other releases, including two from my group The 1s and 2s.
I don't want to say I'm pursuing it as a "career" per say, because I'd be doing it anyway, but I'm definitely trying to get my name out and see where it goes. I'm graduating next spring so after that it'll be more difficult to find the extra time. Paying the bills is hard enough as it is now, once I have to start paying loans off it'll be a bit trickier to juggle.
Listening to that and then listening to New Order makes me realize that New Order might have been pretty far ahead of their time. Some people credit "Blue Monday" with creating 80s music (haha..the cheesiest kind), but now that the "80s" style is making a comeback their influence continues.
You can hear a lot of similarities to what's going on in today's music. This song was released in 1981.

Depends how you look at it. Some would say music is regressing to the 80s.

Haha, depends on how you feel about the 80s. My music history professor way back in college told us that with the dawning of the computer age in the 80s, many in the music industry felt that the whole New Wave thing was the natural progression of music as technology evolved and became more available to musicians. The recent resurgence can be seen as a resumption of that evolution.
Or if you hate New Wave, it's an abominably bad idea. Either one.
I'm not privy on how to post videos, but I'll just list what is on my rotation these days
Coheed And Cambria-Good Appolo, I'm Burning Star IV Vol. 2: No World For Tomorrow
Iron Maiden-Best Of The Beast
Russian Circles-Empros
Hank III-Straight To Hell
there's a ton more but not going to bore you with a list 100 bands deep
