They've taken the "only Europa League matters" route at this stage of the season it seems like.
I have no idea if Athletic should have won that match or deserved to lose. Blew a PK and blew a 3 on 0 breakaway. And the defense had major collapses (e.g. 2nd goal).
Not going to blame Courtois too much for the goal. It is incredibly difficult to read that shot, the movement is very deceptive. Just one of those shots that makes the goalkeeper look a lot worse than he was on it.

Athltico played well IMO but were terrible in front of goal. If the can play like this in the 2nd half, I think they have a goal in them.

I don't know about that, it looked like a clear penalty to me. Just stupid defending, no need to go in that hard in a tackle when Higuain is that far off the goal with no support.
