Im not a bridge jumper but if you cant see where they are coming from I dunno. It's the three come from behind losses that I think have people freaked out. It has to be in the players heads, but hopefully it'll motivate them.
I dont think its over at all, but it was a ****** game to lose.

It's the three come from behind losses.
It's a coach who gets schooled in line matching AT HOME and the lack of adjustments.
It's the nightly train wreck that is Martin and Michalek and the schizo performances from Orpik.
And, frankly, it's the type of collective talent in the top nine that makes me wake up every morning and cry aloud 'THANK GOD WE'VE GOT PAUL MARTIN'.
^ Listen to this guy people. Remember being down 2-0 vs Worshington?
Yeah, that was pretty bad when we opened that series losing two at home. Oops, my bad.
Much as people like to cite stats, I am fairly certain that the only home opener the Pens have lost in the Sid/Geno era was to Ottawa two years ago. The bad news is that Philly ain't Ottawa and both the Pens PP and Sid were humming in that series.

Settle down Buzz. Pens were down TWO games that series.
The question with the PP is how much input does Tony Granato have on it? I think I may do a little a little research on Granato's time in Colorado to see if the same problems existed there as well.
I have to say this is some of the worst over reactions I've seen in some time. A lot of people, not just this board thought we were unbeatable & that the Flyers were just going to roll over.
Now everyone thinks we are garbage & there is no way back but fire the coach & rebuild the team.
I'm really worried about this team. In our last 8, we're 4-4. In that stretch, we've allowed THIRTY goals. Let me type that again. In 8 frickin' games, we've allowed 30 goals. 3 of those games have been against Philly, and we've allowed 12 goals in those games.
I really feel like Philly is in our teams head and we have no confidence against them. I'm not going to take the time to look, but it feels like every game we've played against them, we've scored first, some times even the first two goals, then we've allowed Philly to come back and win.
Couturier is due a lot of credit, because he's done a great job these last few games, possible even this season, shutting down Geno and throwing him off his game. If that trend continues, and Bryz remains dialed in like he was in the last 2 periods + OT, I could honestly see us getting swept. Not because the Flyers are better than us, but because they're in the Pens head.
I'm usually pretty level headed about these things and I'm not one to over react and I'm definitely not now. I'm just viewing things from a logical standpoint. I'm really worried about this team right now. If we lose tomorrow, it's game over.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. This is an issue of a team blowing a three goal lead in such a passive fashion against a heated rival at home in the playoffs. Teams with heart focused on winning do not do that. This is an issue of a Defense that gives up the zone without a fight and stands around while 19 year old kids skate circles around them. This is an issue of a coach who seems to have taken his match-upd from the other teams coach.
I'll gladly eat my words tomorrow night, but what happened last night was disgusting and it leads me to believe they lack the heart and guts necessary to get out of this round. This was not just one loss in the playoffs. To dismiss it it as such is absurd.

That, and it's the exact same deal we've seen against the Flyers over and over and over and over and over again this season.
It's an issue of a coach who can't stop the bleeding when things go south, even though he's seen it before.

It was a bad loss, and there's a lot to learn from it but at the end of the day, whether you lose 5-0 or 1-0 or have a collapse like we did, the series is still only 1-0. A loss is a loss is a loss. You have to be able to put it behind you, but learn from it, and move on.
Something told me it was over
When I saw Paul Martin and his defense
Something deep down in my soul said, 'Cry, boy'
When I saw Malkin and that rookie skatin' around
Yeah, it's over. We've proven we can't keep the puck out of the net. Only thing we have to look forward to is if Shero can fool someone into taking Martin.
It is completely impressive how many leads the Pens have frittered away the last two games. Give the Flyers credit, they've deserved to win both games - it hasn't been a fluke.
The only thing left to see is if the Pens can muster enough consistency to win one game in this series. I'm calling that a fifty fifty shot.
