Interesting to see the numbers of how the Dallas Stars impacted hockey in the city of Dallas. They only had 1 ice rink before the Stars arrived in Dallas. Dallas now has 28.
This article is kinda false, but fun to read. The first Dallas/Texas raised NHL prospect that I can remember is goalie David McKee. After that, my former teammate Teddy Ruth (2007 #46 overall, now a CBJ AHL league prospect), who was traded for Sergei Freaking Fedorov at the 2008 trade deadline, was the next Dallas raised prospect to go somewhere. After that, we have the likes of Austin Smith, Matt Donovon (NYI prospect from OKC that played in the Dallas leagues), Chris Brown, Stefan Noeson, Seth Jones etc. I love the Austin Smith story, it's just that he wasn't the pioneer of the craft here in Dallas.
Have season tickets to the Tornado, but won't make it to tomorrow's game. Really hoping they can push it to Friday, but the Runners are a great team. Listening to the two games it seems like each team is pretty even, just Topeka has gotten the clutch goals. The big guns need to step it up tomorrow (Prince, Biggs, Leisner if he's in net). I still think Amarillo may be the best team i've ever seen in the NAHL season wise this year. A 46-7-7 record is just ridiculous. We have put up 4 of those L's though . Anyway, hoping they can push it to Friday so I can at least see a game before the Robertson Cup. Go Nado!

I truly think the Tornado can go 2-1 in pool play which should get them to the semi-finals, the only game that will be tough will be Vs. Amarillo on Thursday. Gonna be a great three days of hockey in Frisco and I highly recommend you catch a few games if you are able to. Gonna only miss the first two on Friday and a bit of the first semi-final on Monday. Can't wait! GO NADO!!!
