That Gose one is pretty scary. He's so amazing on the basepaths and defensively that it would be such a shame if he can't hit. Laughed at the comment about him possibly being a future pitcher but I guess it's possible.

I think everyone knows the Gose thing because those strikeout rates are a huge concern. Right now he is not striking out much less in Vegas but it's a small sample size.

And if I remember correctly, Gose himself said he would become a pitcher if he didn't get to the big leagues. He certainly has the arm.

EDIT: Gose and Syndergaard are the other two prospects.
It's supposed to be negative, that's what the series is about. Parks does one on every team emphasizing the negatives. Relative to the editions on most other teams, the Jays one is very positive

Anyone else noticing the bandwagon behind this team? Hats/Jerseys everywhere (granted it could be a fashion statement) but people at work, my buddies, and relatives are all talking about the Jays.

It's awesome to see but at the same time these are the same people that bandwagon leafs teams of the past.

The more fans the better. I could care less if I have been a fan all along... I will probably get more enjoyment out of them winning then people just starting to watch.

Whatever works, butts in the seats = more money and that helps the team long term.

Beggers can't choosers. The more the merrier. Etc, etc.

I can actually have a conversation about the team at work now instead of getting a bunch of blank faces. The only negative I can think of is the maple leaf murphy's law train of thought, where anything that can go wrong probably will, and the fans that bring that baggage to this team. Always focusing on the negatives rather than the positives. They'll learn in time.

Like the heard of people coming out of nowhere professing they're hatred for Colby Rasmus? Seems weird to me that people are so quick to write a kid off who has only really has one poor season outside his rookie year. Anyone who knows anything about baseball knows its wise to give a kid like that a shot to take the everyday job and run with it... the last thing we need is the fans getting on him when he struggles.

Yeah, I see the new merch everywhere and there's undeniably more buzz.

IIRC Sportsnet said they set the opening day record for viewers with ~1.33 million average viewers in Canada; 30% more than last year

I think it's great seeing the new Jays hats literally everywhere. Gotta turn that cap into what the Yankee cap is in New York (to a much smaller degree, but you get the point)

the only thing to hate about that is the # of people who wear the cap without knowing what it's for. I swear I was in a sporting good store (sport chek or something like that) when some girl came in and said "do you have any ny (pronounced "nye") hats?"

sales guy says "huh"

girl "you know, ny hats. with the ny design on the front? *sees Yankees caps on the wall* there! Those!"

sales guy "oooohhh, Yankees caps."

girl "huh?"

sales guy "it's the New York Yankees hat. A baseball team."

girl "whatever. Don't you have any in pink?"

me

I also hate that there are already d-bag fashion caps for the new jays one. They give us a sexy, sexy blue cap and instead people want it in green or red plaid or black and white with glitter or something stupid.

I'd like to see if D'arnaud can be better than JP at the major league level. I am not really impressed with what I am seeing from JP so far. Strikes out a ton, and not hitting much. JP has to cut down on his Ks, seriously.

Cool, Snider hits a line drive right centerfield homerun. He has 3 doubles and 2 homeruns so far and this is 6th game. Definitely seems like he's got his power back that he lost last year.

As much as I like JP's personality, I think he's just keeping the seat warm.

Nothing wrong with those of us who want a black cap, though

I saw a Yankee's ticket behind the visitors dugout for $1600, and a Jay's ticket behind the visitors dugout is about $80.

The thing about JP though is that he seems to be a very clutch hitter. His numbers if I remember correctly are much different with runners on the bags.
