He called you out on your absolutes earlier, as did NBTW.
I wouldnt say we are "set" in goalies? We have a LOT of NHL calibre young dmen. I would like a center, but were we to get one at #11, a top goalie at #30 would be a nice compliment. I liked the Russian goalie a lot from what we've seen, and we could use the top end talent there.
While I like Neuvirth, Holtby, and Grabauer, we are hardly set at G. Oh, I forgot Sabourin. I take it back, we are gold.
Green, Carlson, Alzner, Schultz, Orlov. All 27 and under, most 25 and under. Even in 5 years, will we need another dman prospect turning 22 to 23... or a goalie if something goes wrong w Neuvirth/Holtby?
U18s under way in the Czech Republic. The usual places have the Russia/Latvia game. Zharkov & Slepyshev could maybe be second round forward options if they choose to take Boston's second.
Of course, Caps fans seem to think these types of players grow on trees, so taking one at #11 would be an OUTRAGE!!!!
I don't think that's to bad of value really obviously I'd prefer to get more of an impact at 11, but getting a 2/3 center isn't the end of the world to me like it seems to be to others around here

I think there is a massive misconception amongst people here that Top 15 pick = 80+ point potential or Top pairing Dman.
But let's be reality, any time you can get a 50-60 point player...you take it. I mean for ****s sake, 55 points puts you at 2nd on the team in scoring this season. People are seriously saying they wouldn't want a player capable of being the second leading scorer on the team(who also plays the game mean and isn't afraid to hit people)? Stupid.
I like Laughton as a second rounder but he's probably more of an early-to-mid one similar to teammate Jenner. I'd still lean toward opting for Colorado's 2013 second. That's an easier asset to move next season, likely a more highly regarded asset in comparison and if they wanted to keep it then there's a good chance next year's draft will be deeper. I know that's often said but early on it does seem to be the case up front in particular.
Collberg with 1+3 in an 8-1 win over Germany. Very interesting that he pretty consistently outproduces Forsberg in international play.
I love Wilson's size and toughness, but the notion that he's got 'deft' scoring touch is bunk.
He's got 16 goals in 87 career OHL games.
I don't think he's got the skill to make him a good first rounder.
Agreed I think a guy like Lukas Sutter who will probably go in the second round brings more scoring, bit less physicality though. He's always improving to which I like
Wilson is bringing it a bit more consistently in the OHL playoffs but, yeah, any of those power wingers seem like a reach at 16. By the early 20's I could see it.
I like Branden Troock as a potential 2nd/3rd round big winger with some touch that can skate. Not as much of a pure power winger but he's got some edge.
I agree all those are pretty good picks except for the Thomas Wilson one which is a reach but reading about his game sort of makes him tempting but not where the Capitals will be picking, IMO.
Plays with more of an edge. He was really physical at the WJC.
I remember Carlson playing with an edge when he played in juniors as well. Things change when you get to the NHL, players are bigger and more physical.

Wasn't Green billed as having more of an edge too? I may be remembering wrong, although one does show up occasionally in the NHL.
I wonderer if Ross & Co. might reach a little with the second 1st rounder for someone that could be slotted later in the 1st..well not that I think about they seem to go BPA not withstanding that 2005 snake draft.
