Lots of people put Brent Sutter down, but I think he makes way more sense than the Calgary Flames organization in general. His brother Darryl Sutter stocked them with overpaid no-move, no-trade contracts.
Brent Sutter is not a bad coach, it's just hard to judge any coach with what the Flames provided.

Hard to believe that's the same Mike Smith that was with Tampa Bay.

Taking a coaching job in Canada is a death wish.

Montreal -- fired
Toronto -- fired
Edmonton -- soon to be fired
Calgary -- fired
Winnipeg -- gone next year
Ottawa -- secure
Vancouver -- up in the air

Noel made moronic decisions down the stretch with Pavelic and his lines. Too many 3rd period meltdowns, and that's a telltale sign of fatigue, which is inexcuseable when you're in 1st place, there's 15 games left in the season and you havent made the playoffs in 5 years.

Vigneault is gone if they lose in the 1st or 2nd round.

20 years since a Canadian-based team won the Stanley Cup. And that Habs team was just a Marty Mcsorely brain fart from getting bounced by Gretzky. If you think expectations arent high in Canada, watch the lead-in of any local Canadian newscast the few days before the playoffs.

Kingston local radio and TV news ran a poll "Is this the year the Cup returns to Canada?"

Kingston????? That's Ontario. Those pissants haven't experienced a successful Cup run since the late 1960s. That's like Fox-5 News covering the Hurricanes winning the Cup because we share the same time zone.

The World Juniors is another great example. Too much pressure and exposure. Canada's top teens have wilted under that pressure in grand fashion.

System or not.

He has played fantastic for them. His rebound control has improved dramatically. That has nothing to do with a system.

Remember, Smith played well for Dallas until he was traded to a mediocre Tampa team that has a laughably bad defensive corps.

I think Smith has found his game again.

The league going out and apologizing for the missed offside in Briere's 1st goal is complete *********. Where's the apology for the missed TMM in the Yotes-Hawks game that led to a goal?

I do find it funny that the two shootout kings are going at it in the playoffs. We'll just see endless OTs for them.

Shouldn't be a problem getting tickets. I expected a bigger crowd than that. Dang.

My heart wants the Panthers to win, but my brain understands how disadvantageous it would be for us if they won that series.

I'm so conflicted. If the Bruins, Penguins, and Panthers win, we'd be looking at a showdown with Pitt.

As much as it would be awesome to see them go down, a Devils series win probably benefits us in the long run.

It's so empty there. Looks like a good regular season crowd at the Pebble.

Can't decide whether Florida looks like the worst playoff team I have ever seen, or the worst hockey team I have ever seen.

Devils completely dominating, and now lead 1-0.

Wow, what was florida's defense doing there? You can't give Elias that much time in front of the net. Go knock him on his ass.
