Yeah man it's not like Backes took off his helmet or glove or anything. He totally backed down. It had nothing to do with the fact that the referee was right between them.
Man some people make stupid statements.

Maybe I am remembering it wrong but I'm pretty sure it was Thornton who removed Backes helmet, but hey I'm all for a fight between those two. probably go something like this

haha I know Joe would win a series of fights against Backes but even you cant discount the chance that that specific fight favors Backes, no matter how small that chance may be. That is after all the major appeal of sports.
Now that emotions have settled i have to say that was a great game. double OT thriller as a game one. I hope the Blues can regather themselves and really push to keep this series going.
I thought Backes took off his helmet, but wouldn't surprise me if Thornton did either! Epic trolling haha
I thought Backes did too, but I don't have a particularly clear memory of it.
Anyway, I'll always have a soft spot for Backes, after kicking Toews ass, and then taking on Nash and Perry. Obviously he wants to fight Thornton so he can continue his quest to fight all the 2010 Canadian Olympics team. Although if I were him, I'd go for Marleau.

Losing in overtime, let alone double overtime could kill the blues mentally since they are a young team. Never discredit what losing in overtime can do to you.. just saying but this series is faaaaaaaaaar from over!
Oh I know it's far from over. I predicted Blues in 6, and I'm sticking with it
the sharks players werent happy at all about that game besides winning it. game 2 is going to get intense quick =]!
Yep! Very close back and forth battle, although Blue had a few more stretches where they were dominat. Both goalies were good but Niemi was just a little better. I think the next game will be another close one, and probably the rest of the series. Can't wait for Saturday!
