In the series versus Baie Comeau, Coyle had 2 G and 6 A. Philips had 4 goals and 7 assists. The next series will be a big test to see if they can keep their momentum and prove they aren't taking advantage of bad teams.
Larsson's team is still in the playoffs right? We've heard a fair bit about Brodin, anyone know how Larsson's doing?
Larsson had a bit of a dip after the WJC gold, but has since been getting back on track. After having been one of the most important players for Brynäs all through the season, in the last games he has seamed to find a new level within him. Despite only having produced one goal and five assists in twelve games, he has really been a dominating player in all playoff games and you can tell that his play (as well as his confidence) is blooming as he has been so essential for Brynäs taking the lead against SAIK with 2 – 0 in the final round.
With other words, he's doing good.

It's the bench penalty for Unsportsmanlike at 19:30 of the 2nd in the summary above.
Can't believe there hasn't been more talk of Johan Larsson. His team Brynäs is playing in the finals against SAIK the 4th game at this moment. Brynäs is leading the series 3-0, in other words, if they win tonight he will be a Swedish Elite League Champion!
He has been playing quite well, especially defensively where he shuts down SAIK completely. And he creates chances for others in the offensive zone. He was close to score in the 1st period too.

I agree with this- I think he simply lacks the exposure of Granlund and the others. Still, I think there are diverging opinions of what sort of player he's gonna be on this side of the pond.
I think Larsson may be a dark horse to make the team out of camp next year. I think he'll be more of a Brodziak type of player, but how much center has he been playing? Will he be more of a center or a winger over here?
It's going to be awesome seeing all of the young guys playing down in Houston next year, it may be worth picking up the AHL package to see some games.

From what I recall, Foucault has all sorts of talent...if he bothers to show up. Might be getting him confused with someone else though.
No, this is correct. He has great hands, great wristshot, good offensive awareness, good frame, and good enough skating to be effective. However, he is extremely inconsistent and lacks work ethic.
Looking at available picks. I think we could move down from 7 to 10 if we are offered a nice set of picks. The Lightning have 3 second round picks and 2 firsts. I could see them making a move.

I could see Tampa moving up to grab Dumba or Reilly.
Were likely not going to get the kind of quality we need at #7 unless someone drops to us, so we might as well consider dropping down to get two guys we like rather than one guy we like.

Two lesser players won't cut it. This belongs in the draft thread or one of the team specific threads instead of prospects though.
As I've been saying, we're not at the point where we just need bodies. We need quality over quantity at this stage in our prospect pool. Sure, we could move back to 10 and pick up a second round pick. Then we could get a potential 3-4 guy and a potential bottom pairing defenseman. However, at 7 we will have our pick of a couple different potential #1 or at least top pairing guys.
i just feel that larsson has way more of an offensive upside and has more playmaking ability. and is not as physical or grinder-like such as brodziak.
On this talented Brynäs side that has great forwards like Silverberg and Järnkrook, Larsson isn't as needed to be offensive and create goals but I agree that he does have some great playmaking skills that can be used later but he is mainly a Mike Richards / John Madden type that shutdown other stars. Kinda like Koivu too, he is good at the boards, quite strong on his skates.
They didn't manage to sweep SAIK yesterday but will have chance tomorrow to grab the champion cup.
Tyler Graovac was named the #1 star in Ottawa's 3-2 win last night. Looks like he's pulling a Bulmer from a couple years ago with a good postseason after a not-so-good regular season.

I like players that kick it up a notch in the playoffs better than those who disappear.

Might be a savvy pick, didn't he break his arm last season? He has the makings of a strong checking line center.

He did indeed.
And that wouldn't be a bad role for Graovac. He continues to grow (has gone from 6'2" at draft to 6'4) and while he needs to fill out (presently is listed at 194 lbs), he's a more defensive, two-way center.
