Chara didn't win one battle with Ovechkin, every time Chara tried to hit Ovechkin, he would end up stumbling and Ovechkin wasn't even phased.
20-30 pounds on Ovi and can't even withstand a counter hit. Pathetic.
It was a constant battle between some serious physical specimens, no need to cheapen things with baseless claims.
OV is a bull and Sidenberg even thou a little shorter is also built for physical contact, and Chara? What can you say, he is a monster, but it will take both of them to keep Alex in check, and they know it.
0-0 score after regulation says it all, it was a battle, to bad we lost... secondary scoring need come thru in the games like this, and it did for Bruins... Can't wait for Saturday, need to get a split out of Boston.
Pretty awesome collision here, I don't think I'd term it that either player destroyed either player. Seids set him up and Alex really braced for the impact; both players really took a shot here!

There was the one hit that Ovie put on Chara that I noticed the most. It was towards the end of the 2nd or 3rd. Chara was near the boards (to the right of the net behind goal line), Ovie lit him up and Chara swings his stick as he's turning around looking to hit Ovie.
I've never seen a D-man get so upset about being checked than Chara does. He's supposed to be this big bad dude, but pouts and gets pissed when he's on the receiving end of a a hard check.
That's what playoff hockey is all about! And they both got up and just kept playing, no fights, no hacks, not even a dirty look at each other!
Absolutely! It's good to see. No one was kneeling, sprawling out on the ice, waiting for an official to call it or crying when they don't. Now that's the hockey I like to watch. The hit, they fall, they get up and start skating. Hockey needs more of that.
The hit reminded me a little bit of Lindros. Seids was initiating the hit but ended up getting the most of it. I love it when players run a certain player and end up lying on the ice themselves. Lindros did that to others trying to hit him several times. Of course most of the time The Big E had a pretty good size and weight advantage.
So how freaking strong is - in this case Ovy - on his skates? Is it his legs? His back? What makes him absorb such a huge hit when the other player (Seids) is in a way better position (quasi exploding from down low "into him")?
