Some rounds might be finished by then, so a combination of playoff finish and regular season standings is probably best.
Yeah, basically whatever we know for sure by Apr. 27th should be what we use, I guess. Which means any eliminated teams would have their spot in the order finalized, but the remaining teams would probably have to be re-ordered according to regular season standings for the remaining picks. That includes series(') in progress during rounds that have already had eliminations, I suppose.
Not hard to edit the order in the OP, and by the time it matters, everyone affected will have had more than enough time to find out.
Alright guys, I'd like to just get the draft order finalized and the original post fully set up.
So since we're 3 days away from the start of the mock, I think we'll just continue to do what we've done in recent years and just go with regular season standings for the bottom half of the rounds.
Some may not be happy with that, but for me it's the easiest option.
Also, the draft will OFFICIALLY get under way on the 27th (let's say noon eastern time) but if Edmonton wants to go ahead and get us started, they can do so whenever they'd like, from now until the 27th.

Are we not counting the lottery? If we are, then its edmonton who will kick off the draft, again

With the first overall selection in the 2012 Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers are proud to select, from the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League, defenseman Ryan Murray. We believe that Murray is going to help the team, both now and in the longer run, and it will start by challenging for a top-4 spot on the Oilers.
