Excited for tonight. In a way I'm glad the Kings brought it for Game 1. The Canucks have to battle to get into round 2, at least they'll be mentally prepared that way. Too much talk about them breezing through LA and then turning it on for round 2. It is the playoffs, no easy games. LA has been considered a threat all season (only downfall being scoring) why discredit them now?
Looking forward to Lu bringing another solid game to the table, and seeing the regular defensive pairings back together for game 2.
Can a Kings fan give insight on Lokitionov? What to expect from him drawing into the line up? I've heard his name a lot over the years but don't know a whole lot about him.

He's an undersized, shifty, playmaking center who's been called up a couple of times. He made a pretty good impression the first time, was underwhelming the last time. Has good vision but gets knocked off the puck easily...
Maybe some Manchester fans can chime in as to his latest performances.

Sounds like Ebbett, who I think is also drawing in to the Canucks line up.

Small, skill player with exceptional vision/passing. Totally ineffective as a winger. Could be an asset on the PP.

This is a pretty good assessment. Slotting him in the 4th line is worrisome because he's one of those players who has had "top 6 or bust" affixed to his name by many people. His skill set doesn't really translate to a bottom 6 role IMO.

small and skilled. He doesnt fit with Nolan and Fraser on the 4th line because he isn't physical, but he is very responsible defensively which is probably why he was picked ahead of Westgarth.

Agree with that, and add that Lokti is very crafty at picking people's pockets defensively. Very active with his stick to compensate for his size. He is also deceptive in board battles- he has the ability to squirm out of checks with his quickness.
Glad to see that this has stayed fairly civilized between Nucks and Kings fans. Hoping for a better effort tonight from the Canucks and less penalties, should make for a more exciting game.
Ebbett with Malhotra and Kassian and Loktionov with Nolan and Fraser. Sounds like the 4th lines for both teams might be a bit of a wash this game.
All I can hope is that Ebbett's offensive prowess rubs off on Kassian if they get a shift in the offensive zone ever.
I doubt we see much of Ebbett outside of the 2nd PP unit (if it sees the ice). He'll be overmatched physically, IMO. He makes Jeff Tambellini look like a giant.

Agreed. Still hoping for Steven Reinprecht to make an appearance this series.
Ok, so I went back in this thread and found 7 posters claim Kings fans think the Kings are going to sweep or win the series......yet I didn't find a single Kings' fan state that. Will you guys put it to rest? Some of us still feel Canucks can win in 6 or even 5, stop making ******** claims! There's a difference between "Kings can win" (which many of us are saying) and "Kings will win" (which NONE of us are saying).
Id like to see Kass with a goal tonight. I thought he played well, at least until the refs scared him from being able to play. Love to see them put away the whistles more tonight. Thought Lappy deserved his penalties for the most part, but that Kassian one, in the playoffs? Come on. hit like that to me is just finishing a check. If anything, give the guy a warning. Really don't want the refs fingerprints all over this game like last time. Even the make up calls are b.s. Not saying Kings didn't deserve the win, but for both teams. Just let them play ffs, please. And Hughson needs to slap Simpson hard across the face. His passive agressive Nucks hate drives me effing nuts.
Good luck to both teams, here's to an entertaining game. (with a W for Van )
Hopefully better effort from Nucks. Stop flopping all over the ice would be a good start. Focus on playing hockey. Some hard work, intensity and focus on the actual game. Still love you guys, just hate seeing the embellishing all the time. Anyways, upwards and onwards. Go Nucks!!
Canucks will come out flying. This one won't be close. I'll say 6-0 Canucks
I actually have a bad feeling about this. The Kings have been a mentally fragile team for most of the season. This game will tell me a lot about their character, and if it's a blowout tonight, I fear their confidence will be shattered.

This Kings team looks a lot different than most of the season to me. I don't see them getting blown out by anyone, and I don't see them being shattered by one loss. I don't think the new leadership group will let that happen.
