Hi guys, first of all good luck for the playoffs. Being from Montreal, I am rooting for you guys for the cup (along with Nashville) for obvious reasons. We still miss Halak in Montreal and wish him and the team well. ( and the fans of course)
I will be in the St. Louis area from the 24th to the 29th of April, and I seriously doubt that there will be tickets available if a game 7 were to happen ( scheduled for April 25th). Is there a really happening sports bar in the area where I may be able to catch the game at to soak in the playoff atmosphere? I am pretty sure that I wont feel like sitting in my hotel room to watch it there.
There will be sports bars all over town, what part of St Louis are you staying in?
Well, I will actually be an hour and a bit south of St-Louis in a small town called Cuba, but I doubt there will be any interesting sports bars out there to watch the game at, so I figured downtown St-Louis would be my best bet.
I'll be going to Ronnies' Cine in South County to watch a few games on the BIG screen. It's free admission(get there early), and they have a deal for 4 16oz bottled beers and a tub of popcorn(free re-fills) for only $18. They only have the first 4 games listed on Stltoday.com right now, but I'm sure they'll be doing the same for the rest of the series.
Also, O'B Clarks in Brentwood is a great place to soak in the Blues play-off atmosphere. KMOX often broadcast the games live there, and sometimes players even show up after games.
BTW if there is a game 7 I'm sure there will be at least a few tickets still available( but probably at a high price). Your best bet would be to check these sites below..

If you dont want to drive all the way downtown, there will be some good spots in St Charles im sure but unfourtunately I dont really know that area all that well so couldnt help you out. But downtown will be rockin for sure.

Otherwise, its too early in the year for a float trip on the Huzzah. The water is still too cold.
He's absolutely right. Go to west to Rolla. It's a college town (known for it's St. Patty's day celebrations) not sure what the crowd would be like but I'm sure the bars will have all the games, and it's a much more developed town than Cuba.
Cuba is too far from St. Louis, but if you are willing to travel...then Pacific or Eureka (east of Cuba) should have some good spots to watch the game.
If you're ever back later in the year, I strongly suggest a float trip on the Huzzah or Meremac rivers
I spend a lot of time in the Cuba and Steelville area
I would not count out getting tickets to the game......there are so many outlets these days and tickets released on the day of the game.....just call the Blues and see if they will sell you one first. There are still tickets available for game two, and I imagine if I went up to the Scott trade right now I could find one, people always have last minute reasons they cant go to these events.
Most of the downtown bars have bad TV's or just plain suck.....most of the bars in this entire area suck.
Joe Buck's cheap beers before and after Blues games but that place will be sacked.....iTap is the best bar, but I can't remember if they have good TV because they have so many different beers.
Where ever you go be careful.....the hoods downtown are packing more than Skittles.

Now is the best time to float those rivers......fewer frat boys
Being a college student in Rolla, I would also recommend driving the few miles west to get here to watch. It's about a 20 minute drive and their should be multiple bars showing it along with plenty of Blues fans to watch it with. I'll always find a good hockey conversation or two when I wear my Blues swag there. I'd recommend two bars called The Locker Room and C&M billiards (I usually frequent the latter) to watch it, and if not there another bar called the Grotto will have it on, but with fewer televisions to watch it from. Not to mention all three have great drink specials (you can usually get a pitcher of beer in Rolla for the price of a pint or two in St. Louis).
I hope the OP has about a week or two to spend in the area with all of the things for him to do. If OP is actually making it into St. Louis, there is the visiting fans sticky.
Thanks of for all the great info guys. Looks like I am going to try and score tickets if it goes to seven, but if not...

I would be more that happy to meet up with you ( and others if some of you are up to it) at C&M or anywhere in Rolla to watch the game. The first pitcher will be on me to thank you for your hospitality. It will also prevent me from looking like some poor sap walking into a bar alone to sip on a beer to watch a hockey game.
Oh yeah, it's gotta be way up right now. I haven't seen it since winter, but it's flood season. Very high I'm sure.
And you're right, luckily I learned that from a young age "growing up" on the river. Never be out there alone. Nobody to share a beer with
I went to the Huzzah(state forest area)in Steelville about 3 weeks ago and it was definitely flood stage. We ended up going to the Current River in Cedar Grove instead. I definitely recommend floating that stretch of the Current. Such a beautiful river and with all the cold springs the trout fishing is just excellent.
