Bure scoring 58 goals in 74 games with the Panthers in 99-00, and 59 goals in 82 with the Panthers in 00-01 is far more impressive than Stamkos scoring 60 in 82 with top notch talent with the Lightning.

Still, what Stamkos did this year was incredible. What Bure did was simply more incredible.

So the argument Bure fans are using is quality of linemates? I remember bure playing with messier and having no chemistry what so ever, he also played with mogilny at various times and again no chemistry because bure is a puck hog. Regardless, stamkos will surpass bure within 2-3 years so this poll will be meaningless in a couple of years. Ray Whitney and Viktor Kozlov arent exactly bums either, Bure is a cherry picker, linemates wont change his production.

Its obvious most of these people havent watched stamkos this year, he rarely plays with st. louis at even strength and st.louis is on his last legs anways, how old is he, 37. Dont hate on stamkos because hes actually capable of developing chemistry while Bure blew it whenever he played with either mogilny or messier. In 2001 Bure wasnt even top 10 in ppg and he finished 7th in scoring, this year stamkos was 2nd in scoring, his season is easily more impressive.

This is so misleading and proves that YOU don't watch Stamkos. It's true that did he not start out this season playing with St.louis as his regular linemate, however St.louis is continiously rotated onto Stamkos's wing.

St.louis most regular linemate throughout the season was Stamkos and likewise Stamkos was St.louis during even strength. The reason why people "think" they don't play together often is because St.louis hasn't been as effective as he usually has and Stamkos is much less dependent on him now. I'd say St.louis has assisted on 35-45% of Stamkos's goals this year as opposed to the 50-70% he did the previous 2 years.

+ actually watching lightning games.

And likewise I could say Bures 00' season was better then Stamkos this year, 2nd in league scoring, 2 points behind Jagr, 74 games played, 58 goals, 94 points, 1.27 ppg

If Bure's 00-01 was so good, why did he come 9th in Hart voting that year?

9 of his goals were also into an empty net ad he cherry picked his butt off to score those goals. Pavel Bure supporters are pretty desperate if they have to resort to the fact that 'stamkos gets to play with a 37 year old st.louis'. Why should it even mater, stamkos dwarfed st. louis in scoring this year anyways.
