City should hire them to help redesign some of downtown's incredibly boring architecture. One thing I miss when I visit cities abroad are neat looking and nice buildings...I know it is petty but Edmonton is very bland on that respect.

Reason: The issue of homelessness is offtopic.
Well it looks like the pc's are running away with the election. How long until they announce that they will be upping the money given to Edmonton for whatever they want to do with it?

Well, considering how much money the PCs are giving to Edmonton and Calgary colleges/universities to upgrade/expand, it will only be a matter of months. Once they release information on infrastructure spending for Edmonton and Calgary, we will likely see the snowball grow larger as it rolls down the proverbial snowy hill.
This artist's image shows the pedestrian plaza and Wintergarden meeting at street level and curving to link up with the main arena.
Open houses will be held in June to gauge public response to the design of Edmonton's downtown arena.
Quote:
Edmonton's executive director for the $450-million arena project, confirmed the images were created in March by 360 Architecture, the U.S. firm that has been hired to design the arena.
Conceptual images will be shown to city council on May 16, but the design may have changed by then, Daviss said. These images are 50 per cent of the finished product, not the final concept.
Love the design. Can't wait to go watch games there. I'll be hungry for a good rink to watch hockey in after being forced to watch hockey at the Saddledome while I'm in school >.<
