I'm rooting for the Kings to make it to the conference finals, but I don't think I could take playing them in the Finals. Seeing all those former Flyers players, coaches, etc win the Cup against us would absolutely kill me.

same here but if the flyers don't win it i truly hope the kings do.

I want to root for the Kings, I really like the Kings and I would love for Richards and Gagne to win a cup, but I just can't. Seeing Richards lift the cup and then giving it to Gagne in a Kings uniform would break my Flyers heart, it would be too much to bear.
I guess if the Flyers should win the cup before that happens, it wouldn't bother me, so Richards will just have to wait for his cup until the Flyers have won theirs.

I'm rooting for the Kings, if we some how managed a kings vs flyers finals I obv couldn't do that anymore. But I would love to see Gagne and Richards raise a cup, aslong as it wasn't over the flyers.

Gagne's been out since December and hasn't played over 41 games, so unless he comes back for the playoffs or the team petitions the league, if they win his name won't be on the Cup.

Yeah, I know and that's not the only flaw in the way I picture the Kings winning the Cup. In my imagination Richards gets the cup first and then gives it to Gagne, which wouldn't happen because he is not the Kings' captain. I just picture Richards and Gagne like the players they were in Philly playing the exact same roles they had in Philly, just wearing Kings' uniforms. I guess that's why I can't really root for the Kings, because of that image in my head which isn't really based on reality. (And I created that image last off-season, that's the reason why I haven't even mentioned Carter) I know it's irrational, but so what? Whoever said that being a sports fan is remotely connected with rationality.
I'm not sure in what way that made you feel sad. Please explain.
The first part, when I visualized those Ex-Flyers lift the cup in the wrong jerseys I felt sad. Especially when Gagne and Richie were (still are) two of my favorite players.
Being a Philly fan in LA; this final match up would be fun for me. Hopefully through the cup presentation. The timing this year might also be cool. I will be traveling home to PA in early June. So the potential to see games on both coast would be awesome (although expensive). I would certainly be cheering for the Flyer's at Staples given the chance.
The downside would be the grief I would have to endure from them about Richards and Carter.
Giroux outscores Richie
The Flyer ice girls distract and shutdown Carter, it's that easy in the Playoffs.
Couturier makes Kopitar disappear.
and everyone watching the games will say, who the hell are these King wingers?

Oh, I understand, then it's the same how I feel about it. For a moment there I thought that was a jab at me because rooting for those guys is an emotionally mixed bag for me and it makes you sad that there are Flyers fans like me. Just wanted clarification before getting all defensive .
I couldn't deal if I has to watch Flyers Kings... it was the first thought that came to mind when Richards and Gagne both landed in LA last summer. Adding Carter makes it 10x worse for me. But there is no way I would cheer if the Kings won the cup against any team, period. It would make 1975 hurt even more than it does right now.
I'm rooting for the Kings as of now, but to be honest I don't think I could take seeing them win a cup, especially before we do. Even if we don't make the finals, I can't root for them to win it all. Seeing Richie hoist a cup somewhere else while I'm still waiting for one here would crush my spirit

Agree with the sentiment. There wouldn't be a dry island ... I mean, eye, in the house.

No, you're not alone on this one. We're in the same boat you and I, haha.
