It's always hard to critique people's mock drafts because quite frankly anything could happen and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but for anyone to still think Jordan Schmaltz is a first round pick blows my mind.
Yeah but dude...dude...
Collberg 25/30/Second round
I don't like saying "won't happen" but that WILL NOT happen.
Those players you listed are in the prospect pool though, not the pro roster.
Minnesota is very thin on the blue-line. They are quite set among forwards. Filip Forsberg is the only forward i could see Minnesota drafting, but i see them likely getting Griffin Reinhart,Matt Dumba,Jacob Trouba or Morgan Rielly.
I was referring to Koivu, Setoguchi and Heatley because those guy can score goals.
Again, I believe we still lack a high-end dynamic forward. Granlund is only one guy.

Something tells me we'll find some balance sooner than later.
Right now we need defensive help both in the minors and in the NHL. In a year, our defense is going to look worse than anything because we won't have anyone to call up.
I realize that 15-30 doesn't get decided until after the playoffs are over, but they seriously didn't even account for division winner being forced to draft later. They have Phoenix at 20, but even if 4 non-division winners made it to the final 4 of the playoffs, Phoenix could only draft as high as 22.
I liked seeing Dumba as a pick for the Wild. That looked amazing. Him over Rielly any day of the week. And I'd rather draft Trouba over him, too. I don't want any of Forsberg.
If Wilson goes as high as two of them think I'll eat a shoe. A less offensive talented player to go in the first round, I can't think of one.
Once Wilson started shooting up the rankings, I immediately thought of Ben Eager. People a few years from now will just be baffled as to how someone could take a player like that in the first round. Same reason I hated when the Jackets took Dalton Smith in 2010 at 34 overall. Just look at a few guys taken after that. We had no need for that type of player, especially that early in the draft. At the very least, take Johansen's teammate in Ross if you're gonna be taking a player like that.
Finnish fans are gonna range when they read Hoffner's.
Enjoy
Collberg ranked late because he can't produce against men, top that by playing with goon and pf. I do believe that he will be picked 8-15th. Hoffners lists always been bit, meh.
Probably because Henrik Samuelsson isn't a first round caliber player. More mid-late second round.
And Pearson is a winger. Don't know why they have him as a center.
I thought Henrik Samuelsson used to be a projected 1st round pick, he was ranked #17 last time I checked, must have changed. I know Pearson was listed as a winger before, I just didn't know if he was a converted center or not.

I know it has nothing to do with it, but usually you want to have a guy in your organization that already wants to be there. He's also a skilled winger with a right handed shot, something the Penguins need.

Looking at the Penguins, they are very talented at D with Morrow, Despres and Harrington, alot of them with good size. Deep on the wings but could use a bluechip winger. Center, they don't really have anything from my first glance.
I know what you mean, but I'm sure Shero will stop at nothing to make sure Crosby, Malkin and Staal remain Penguins for the long term, and usually your first round picks are guys you want in the NHL in the future, Shero will obviously draft centers, but I don't see any being selected in the 1st round by the Pens. I mean, they have...
Sidney Crosby
Evgeni Malkin
Jordan Staal
Joe Vitale
Dustin Jeffrey
Keven Veilleux
Cal O'Reilly
Zach Sill
Dominik Uher
Scott Wilson
I'm sure one or two centers will be drafted, maybe in the 3rd or 4th round.

I agree Pens should be looking for Wingers and defensman
The reason teams take centers regardless of the depth of the organization is that they can be moved to the wing if need be...just get the BPA. Plus, you wan to have as many valuable trade assets as possible.
