The problem with Nyquist in the playoffs is that for better or worse, if you aren't an all-star, Babcock will want you to bang hard.
There's a reason Hudler was always getting the short end of the stick in the playoffs for ice time etc. - you want a complete effort with a premium placed on physicality and energy.
Look at Helm, he's not done anything in terms of offense to warrant his position. You give the kid the puck alone in front of the goalie and he'll score once on ten tries if that. He's become a key guy for Babcock to rely on because he brings energy and intensity to the game which the Wings sorely need.
Nyquist is in a way the sort of luxury player that someone like Babcock will have a hard time putting into a lot of situations in the playoffs.
