I also find it stupid Chicago has their announcers covering their series. Really annoying to hear homerism in the playoffs
Typical. The same small-willy complex the majority of the media covering the NHL seems to have about southern teams that actually put up a good fight and have the fans to back them up. I find it amazing they didn't find time to mention Pitt/Phil/NYR/Bos anywhere in there.

Has any timetable been set for Hal gill or what? Do we even know what is wrong with him??

If we can't score on PP then we better not let them either, we need gill!

Definitely need Gill back ASAP, he was not just a penalty killer, but a solid Dman with loads of experience. They were considering his return for tonight already, but eventually called it off.

The thing with Gill, he has such a lack of mobility that he needs to be 100% to be able to go out there and not be a complete pylon. So unless his skating is completely ready, he's not going to be out there.

Though Ellis needs to play. Hillen is absolutely useless, he had a few halfway decent games at the end of the season and suddenly he's a permanent fixture.

So Sunday afternoon he will be playing most likely?

Agreed! Bourque and josi are there and doing great as rookies! Ellis looked good everytime he played and I think he should be in the line up big time over hillen and possibly bouillon and Klein as well

Not liking the thought of Eliis and Cube versus Datsyuk.

Me neither. But it scares me significantly less than Hillen and Cube.

Regardless, I'd go:

Weber-Josi
Suter-Cube
Ellis-Klein

This way, Weber or Suter is pretty much always on the ice. Gill takes cube's spot ASAP

4 things:

1. We will not go far in the playoffs unless our top line steps the **** up. Seriously, Fisher's line is disgusting. Fisher was 4-10 in the face-off circle tonight. Everybody on that line was -2. They cannot win a single damn battle along the boards; in fact, the Wings' 3rd goal was a direct result of SK and Erat losing battles along the boards behind the Wings net. Yet Fisher played over 20 minutes. WTF?! Something has to change; either the line needs to step up or be broken up. Period. Teams who go far in the playoffs are teams whose top players turn it on beast mode. Not teams whose top players are outplayed by the 3rd line.

2. The power play. Gross. At least we know from last year that you can still win a Cup even with a ****** power play (Bruins were 11%). But what a momentum killer our PP has been. Why the eff does Trotz insist on always starting off with Fisher's unit? They are so much less creative than the second unit. And Suter is just a retard on the PP...he can't make a quick decision to save his life. I don't care whether you pass or shoot or whatever, just do it faster! MOVE your FEET!

3. Pekka should've stopped the 2nd goal. Unscreened shot. C'mon bro.

4. At least we aren't Pittsburgh.

Except that those pairings have played about -0- shifts together this season. Not saying it couldn't work, but a must split pair of games on the road is not the time to completely put every pairing with a new partner. The time for screwing around was a month ago.

we really weren't that bad and I thought we carried the play. goal 1, yip take the bidy and hits and ignores his oint who walk in. that alone should have him in the press box.

I just want someone to find the PP we had all season, not this steaming pile of worm ridden dog vomit we have now...

Rads needs to step up and show me something other than puck hogging, excessive stick handling, and passing, passing, passing..... you're a natural sniper... score a few goals, eh?

Erat, do we have to knock out your one remaining tooth?

Sergei.... you are on the verge of proving you critics are correct....

Fisher.... great effort, but eventually that effort has to yield some results.

And at this point I think the first for Gaustad was our best trade deadline investment...though I suspect if Gill is ever able to go he will be well worth what we paid for him...

Pekka.... you cannot give up even one weak goal in a playoff game....

on to Detroit... noon start scares me... everyone better be awake!

oh, yeah, one more thing...

STOP SUCKING!!!

goal 2, Klein tried to go Bobby Orr at the point and didn't get the puck past Emmerton, who took it the other way and beat Pekka with a softie.

Those two bone head decisions put us in a hole.

1. I agree, it looks like everyone on that line is playing poorly. Frankly, everyone except goose is looking like dogfood on faceoffs.

2. Suter is having a very bad series so far. Very bad. First, the Red Wings are focusing on taking away his pass options, which means he must shoot. He is consistently passing up decent shot opportunities which traffic in front in favor of a pass. Nearly every time he has driven down back door he has muffed the play in some capacity.

Suter is just trying to play it cool in front of his new coach next year

You think Suter's going to Detroit? My moneys on San Jose. And I'm thinking Weber to Philly via trade this summer or UFA after next year.

I have feeling we will take both games there...
Tomorrow those old farts won't recover by noon. And on tuesday they will be dead tired and beat up. I can see Lidstrom and Big Z and Dats as a non factor by forth. They were dead tired this game. Didn't show anything at all.

He skated for all of five or ten minutes yesterday. I really wouldn't put much stock in that with regards to predicting his return

Both top 6 lines are being neutralized for the most part. I won't rag on Fish etc., because in reality, Datsyuk, Z and Bert have been contained and non-factors thus far. Fish has played big, hitting everything in sight, even though he hasn't got on the scoreboard yet. Keep Datsyuk and Z quiet and we should be ok.

First 2 games have been decided by 3rd & 4th lines, for the most part.

I'd agree with the Ellis over Hillen if Gill can't go.
Would also consider Smith and Willy too.

Skating yip and Hillen are mistakes in my opinion. That said - if pekka plays halfway decent the game goes to OT. I'm not sure how the Preds didn't score at least 3 goals in the first two periods. Amazing scoring chances by rad and erat
