I said this in the Series thread:
The Caps clearly came out to play. Almost everyone stepped up their game big time.
But the coaching fell flat on it's face. I think this is decent proof of that.

Ovi's shot at the lower left circle was the best shot of the game. So three quality shots!

Aucoins in again? I wish any of the Washingtons useless moron beat writers could ask questions like this.

Almost any other city those questions would be asked

Well Dale is committed to the playoff hockey that his Caps played. Can't score a goal to save your life.

Screw Halpern and Knuble and their 88 games of combined playoff experience. We really need what Aucoin brings...whatever that is.

I bet they get it over with in pregame. Something about how he has to rally his team blah blah blah.
I would have gone with before Pierre McGuire commits verbal ******* on Tim Thomas. BTW what's the mods have doctored rhymes with Horatio.

If you're looking for Larry Brooks type in the Washington media, you're going to be disappointed. First of all very little of the media here truly knows or understands the game. If you got the stomach for it, try listening to the idiots the Sports Junkies. they know absolutely nothing about the game and when they try to talk about the Caps they just look all the more idiotic.

I'm well aware of this
These are all things Whyno has told me this year:

The Caps would seriously consider buying out Ovi's contract if they could
Ovi is only the Caps 3rd best forward
Told me Carlson would put up better numbers than Green ever did this year

I'm well aware the Caps beat writers don't understand hockey. That being said I don't mind Tarik. I've quit reading anything most of them post anyways

Yeah great stuff nbtw/peerless. Agreed that a good amount of the outside shots created some bounces and rebounds. But you have to get to those loose pucks. MP was the closest.... Sadly.

Dale must see something in having those small, quick guys vs zannon and ?. And to be fair, they sustained good zone time in their limited opportunities.... Especially for a game that was very much tug and grab.

Pearrrrrrrrrrrohh

edit: Sometimes the anti-caps lock settings on these boards make me sad. I feel like all caps would add a lot to this.

Hey just want to see some reporters not just throw softballs to Dale and George. Want to see someone make Dale and George squirm a bit and even have a Torts/Larry Brooks like moment. Is that too much to ask.

There's plenty of evidence that small, shifty guys can abuse the hell out of Boston. Hell, Perreault showed some of it last game.

Aucoin, however, is not shifty whatsoever. This is a monumentally bad coaching decision.

Agree with the majority, OV - Backstrom needs to happen, for the love of all that is offense.

Heck, I'd be down for Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin. Line 2 would be defensively responsible (led by Laich), and Line 1 would be uncontainable for the Bruins. A goal or two guaranteed, from a single line, every game could go a long way for this team in the playoffs.

The thread was hilarious. Someone made a random thread question about a prospect and he jumped all over it to hijack the thread to pronounce his love for Pro. The OP was like, you mean MP? with proper spelling of course.

Gloves was hilarious. He even named off the titles of the used DVDs he gave to Varly.

Why. Is. This. So. Fn. Hard.

Ovechkin Backstrom Brouwer
Laich Perreault Semin
Chimera Beagle Ward
Johansson Halpern Knuble

Oh look I can make a forward lineup that doesn't look like something that's gonna lose the game before it even steps on the ice

Expecting to lose this one but who knows, maybe they will shock the world.

Why is Schultz in the line-up still? Chris Kelly beat him wide at least twice during last game.

Why is Aucoin still in the game? If we are going to need to score from below the goal line...Knuble would be valuable...no?

Why is Halpern not in the line-up? Guy is a vet with plenty of experience playing against Boston in the playoffs with Montreal?

Lines I would like to see, but god it would make too much sense...

Ovechkin - Johansson - Brouwer

Laich - Backstrom - Semin

Chimera - Beagle - Ward

Hendricks - MP85 - Knuble
