Sestito does not need to do splits.

JK I know he's on an AHL only contract, but if we really wanted a goon for that game we could pull a David Sloan/Jamie Fritsche with him.
Klotz is terrible and only signed to an AHL contract

Tomorrow would be a perfect day to play Walker.

We need our enforcer back if we play the Broons in the 2nd round.

Tom Sestito, trying to come back from groin surgery, is skating with Blair Betts. #Flyers

Sestito would have been perfect for this series. He can skate fairly well and he hits like a train. Hope he gets well soon.

Doubt they'd scratch anyone in favor of him.

Tom > Rinaldo

I like Rinaldo but he is just so small for what his purpose is.

If Sestito plays under control he will bring that physical edge that we could use.

He has been going back to earlier in the calendar year -- not with the team but with injured players. Oskars Bartulis, for example, when he was rehabbing. It was around the time when he said he still planned on playing this season, before Holmgren muzzled that thought.

Agreed. That isn't a slight on Rinaldo either. Sestito is just a little better at pretty much everything. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Agreed. Given the choice I'd much rather have Tostito out there.

Think it is important that Sestito is healthy if we end up playing boston.

Rinaldo should play against the smaller faster teams like the Pens, but if we play the Rangers or the Bruins Sestito should be in. We match up well against the Penguins and we don't match up that well against those two teams. Playing NYR or BOS they will be much lower scoring games and we would need Sestito's size out there.

I agree but that Rinaldo/Sestito spot in the lineup will be the 1st one gone when JvR is healthy. No way Wellwood gets bumped now. And at this rate, it sounds like JvR will be back before Sestito

I like the way Wellwood is playing, but as soon as JVR is ready to play at full speed, he will be in there for Wellwood, unless they decide to bump Rinaldo.

It's a nice thing to have an abundance of forwards who can contribute, in the same way that our defensive depth is playing huge dividends now. I thought Kubina and Lilja were the difference last night - because the Pitt 3rd pairing of Lovejoy and Engelland were terrible. To have guys like ours in the 3rd pairing, when guys like Meszaros and Bourdon are out, is essential. As soon as Niskanen got hurt, the Pens went down to basically a top 4 with no shut down pairing.

I'm hoping we can exploit their weaknesses even more at home with last change.

Rinaldo himself and the refs are both rendering him useless. I don't see any way he stays in the lineup over Wellwood.

I'd rather have Rinaldo than Sestito. Sestito brings some size, that is true, but he is also a pretty stupid hockey player. He takes stupid penalties far too often, and he is also pretty terrible defensively. If he would be our 13th forward next season, as a replacement for a, for some reason, retired Shelley, then I might be able to live with that. He is more of an enforcer than Rinaldo. I'd prefer it if we didn't "replace" Shelley when that time comes though.

So, while I expect Neil to be suspended, if not I would love for us to be able to arrange a date for him with Tom...

We need Sestito for Boston.

Send somebody who we wouldn't mind seeing suspended.

Shelley comes to mind.
