Kings sucked at home in the playoffs over the last two years because they played with out composure, especially in the defensive zone. Hopefully Sutter can correct this.
They were sooo flying by the seat of their pants in those games. The nerves and pressure got to them, not to mention they got overconfident when they got huge leads.
I don't see any indication of overconfidence or sketchy play at all so far this playoffs. They are very business-like. Let's keep that going, shall we?
I've been listening to team 1040 Radio out of Vancouver, and most of the media seems to think Schneider will be starting game 3.
That I do not understand. It isn't like Luongo has played bad. He has actually played good. When your team scored one goal through the first 55 mins of play like in the last game, goaltending isn't the issue. I think that gives the Canucks players an excuse they shouldn't need or have. As a Kings fan, i don't care who they play in goal because I don't believe that is going to change anything.
Alain Vigneault seemed to disdain this idea in the Post-Game 2 interviews. That's not to say he won't turn around and do it, though.
IMO, as good as Schneider is, such a move might backfire and be more of an indication of desperation than anything.
Schneider is a good problem for them to have, although so far it seems it is the media making the decision that Schneider should play to change things up for the next game. Not sure if this is shared by the coaching staff at all. Luongo has been good in net overall. i don't think it would be a bad idea if they wanted to get something going, because they have two solid options in net.

I hope you're right, but what we saw from the Kings in the last two games of the season against the Sharks, looked a lot like the what see from the Kings in the playoffs the last two years. Hopefully it's behind them.

Seems like most of the BC media thinks Schneider should start, not because Luongo was bad (which he wasn't), but because the team needs a change up.
P.S. Has Sutter lit a fire under Penner's ass or what?
But Penner is not the only one, did you see his post-game interviews, where he was calling them out on 5 on 5 play, etc....
Good to see a Kings coach holding the players accountable, and adjusting and working on the things we need to work on to be successful in the post-season!
Hopefully the Kings put that win behind them faster than I did; I'm still fired up.
My life has been like a Disney movie from the time I woke up this morning. The sun is shining, birds are singing, squirrels are following me around and folding my laundry. All is right in the world.
I'm going to enjoy the hell out of the next 30 hours or so and hope it gets even better after tomorrow night.
The Kings are going to bring it whoever is in net for the Canucks, coaches know this. I would be surprised if AV made a goalie change.
The best young goalies have a hard time in the playoffs, especially with limited experience. Schneider will be no different. What a younger guy may gain in speed and agility, they lose in the savvy required for pressurized games. It's not like Luongo is crapping the bed and there is nowhere to go but up. Quite the contrary, he's the only reason the Kings don't have more goals than they do in the 2 games. At best it will be a wash goaltending wise. The team may play better if Luongo is pulled, but an experienced squad like Vancouver shouldn't need that as motivation.
The Kings have played pretty well even with unfavorable match-ups. I expect it them to shift into a higher gear at home; not the situation I would personally want to put a young goaltender in.

Exactly. The sky is blue, the air is crisp, things are looking up!

I just keep thinking back to when Mclellan pulled Niemi for the 3rd period after only giving up 2. I think it kinda guilts the team a bit and it seemed to be effective.
What a start to this series. It's been a lot of fun so far. Despite the struggles of this team all year, you just get a different feeling watching them so far in the playoffs. I haven't been on pins and needles this series expecting them to choke the games away as they did in the previous two years. Obviously there is still a lot of hockey left to be played in this series and Vancouver, even sans the D. Sedin, is a very dangerous team. Dirty, cheap, and mostly punks? Of course but still a dangerous team. The Kings still have to play better and I believe they will. Different players have been stepping up in each game and hopefully Williams, Carter, etc. are next.
