I so would want to go but the tickets are 70€ and up... Absolute disgrace..
USA, CAN, FIN playing in Helsinki, but the Finnish Hockey Association has made it impossible for the majority of fans to actually go to the games.. Like it was in some of the newspapers that the family of four people will have to pay over 450€ for tickets to see Finland play in the group stage. In Sweden the games are about 50% cheaper than Finland..
Texas Stars goaltender Jack Campbell said he has decided to pass on invitation to represent the USA at the World Championship.
The 20-year-old netminder said he'd like to take a break after his season ends this weekend.
"I want to get some rest," Campbell said this morning after Texas' optional skate at the Cedar Park Center.
Campbell, Dallas' first round pick (11th overall) in 2010, has had a long season. It began with a couple games at the NHL Prospect Tournament in September and has gone on to include 46 games in juniors, five games at the World Junior championship and ten games so far with the Texas Stars, who play their final two games this weekend.
Really wouldn't be surprised to see Benn back as a winger just for the tournament. He's probably the easiest to move over, and with the depth at center they could have (Stamkos, Tavares, Getzlaf, Staal) as well as who they might be receiving after the first round (Bergeron, Crosby, Thornton, Couture, Toews, etc.). A lot of them will probably sit out for injuries or just not go, but I still think it'd be best for him and the team if he went back to the wing just for the tourney.
There's still a good crop of wingers, it just isn't as deep as the team should be at center.
I don't know if Loui and Vincour are playing, but they said this was a tune up game between the countries for the WC. Plus, Stepneski confirmed Larsen and Vincour have already played some games for their country.
Vincour just set up a good scoring chance for his center. He made the pass on the rush from the RW wall as his center was crashing the net. Center somehow got behind the defense, but he didn't convert.
His line is getting a ton of chances, but just no finishing them off.
Kari got a shutout in his first national team game for five years against Russia.. 2-0 FT
EDIT: sorry five years ago..
There will be a protest about the ridiculous ticket prices in the France-Kazakhstan game 6th of May. Hopefully it will be widely publicized.. Tickets for that game starts from 35€..
