There's something about Zibanejad and there's something about Couturier.

Something about Zibanejad gets me very excited whenever I watch him play. He's got a special arsenal of skills.

Something about Couturier leaves me unimpressed whenever I watch him play. Even if he registers a point or two.

I'm not saying this because we drafted one over the other. Pure objectivity. I just don't see an elite player in Couturier.

I would have been happy with either Couturier or Zibanejad tbh. We always knew Z was more of a project and Couturier was ready. When you watch game 1 and see how valuable fast and physical forwards can be in the playoffs, it makes me very happy we have a guy like Zibby waiting in the wings.

cassie campbell reported that z-bad had a collision in practice today, looks like a concussion. his 2nd of the year. not good. not good at all. something tells me we are going to very much regret not taking couturier when we had the chance at 6 when its all said and done.

because Zibanejad had a concussion? :shake head

guess what: Couturier had one as well.

Zibanejad will be fine. He is fine. the season is complete, he has plenty o time to rest

It's easy to say we should have taken Couturier when he has two good games in the playoffs.

But he had those two good games on THE FLYERS. That doesn't mean he would be lighting it up with the sens (especially since our bottom six isn't much offensively).
Heck, I doubt Couturier would even be playing with us in the post-season.

Both teams have very different systems now, I think Zibby will fit much better with our two-way system.

When Murray took Zibby he said in an interview that he thought that Z was more NHL ready than Couturier.

Zibanejad will be fine, injury wise... He will be better than Couturier down the road. I'm sure he'll be back sooner than later.

the problem is this is his SECOND concussion. i'm not suggesting he's a bust, that he won't play for us, and that it was a terrible pick. i'm just starting to get tingly spidey senses that tell me if he's starting to rack up concussions already and if couturier is already playing lights-out for the flyers in the playoffs, that 10 years from now we very well might look back and wish we had taken him over z-bad.

I don`t remember too many people wanting Couturier before the draft. I was one of the very few who wanted Ottawa to draft him & Scheifele, if possible. But all I heard was that he couldn`t skate, he`s a floater, he has attitude issues & Pageau out played him in the playoffs. I`m okay with Ottawa drafting Zibane but IMO Couturier was & is the better player & he hasn`t even started scoring like he did in junior yet. IMO Couturier will be Philly`s number centre at some point in the very near future.

Just ran into Mika at Loblaws. Evidently it's taco night.

Good news he said he's fine, but has been fighting a bad bug.

I almost sprinted home 2 grab my Mika jersey.

Edit: I'm not gonna give out her name though.

Don't listen to your friend - he is feeding you lies. Anybody with a brain could figure out who his girlfriend is if they went on his twitter by the way.

Mika will be shut down for the season, be around the team but that's pretty much it unless Ottawa goes far.

Have you ever heard of Claude Giroux? There is absolutely no chance of that ever happening until he's out of he picture.
