East Coast Papa Johns > MidWest Papa Johns >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anywhere Pizza Hut
I used to live in Jersey. All Papa Johns is ****ing garbage.
Pizza Hut is worlds better. Maybe it's just in this general area (NY/NJ/PA) and then also in WV. No idea why everyone hates on Pizza Hut. It's a good substitute when I'm in the mood for it (read: rarely).

If we had this conversation like a decade ago when Pizza Hut crust was all French Bread Tasting and ****, then maybe. The quality of ingredients has gone downhill bad.
He lives in Pittsburgh. Pizza in PA is terrible. Gets worse the further out west you go. I assume that near the University there are some pizza places where some NYers settled or something that are good.
In WV, it's the same story. New place finally opened, though. Guys moved out here from NY after school. Pizza is just like back home (a bit greasier, but I'll deal with it).
Pizza outside of NY/NJ/CT and parts of Florida (where NYers retired) generally sucks pretty bad.
All pizza where you're from is terrible because I personally don't like it.
There are tons of excellent places in Pittsburgh, let alone Philly.

Pizza Hut used to make the dough fresh in the store. Now they use frozen, perforated discs. The only thing that isn't frozen solid is the sauce and wing sauce. When I was there, they rolled out a change to where they put even less cheese on the pizza and all of it on the bottom, so none of the toppings would stick. God help you if you ordered a supreme. The one I worked at had a Dominos, Papa Murphys, Rosatis, three scratch made mom-and-pop places, 2 restaurants that served pizza and 2 major grocery stores, all within walking distance. No idea why people even bothered to order. Wasn't even close to the cheapest.

I don't get it either, Pizza Hut is frickin expensive and so not worth it. Pizza Nova is really overpriced, too. If I'm gonna order chain pizza I'm not going to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Pizza Hut has deteriorated well beyond edible.
I'd only consider it an option out of state since out of state pizza blows.
Funny thing is I live in CT, near a couple good pizza places but I end up getting Dominos or Pizza Hut alot because theyre open late, cheaper, and closest.
Back in the day, when I lived in the Burgh, there was a pizza place in the Squirrel Hill district named "Mineos", whose pizza was the bomb. Surely if it still exists it has to be better than Pizza hut, though I don't know where the OP lives in relation to SQ Hill.
Papa Johns > New Dominoes > Pizza Hut >>>>> Dominoes as it was a couple years ago.
honestly I used to only order dominoes when I had some kind of super coupon that would get me like 90% off, because any more expensive and it wasnt worth it because of how terrible it was. Now it's actually really really good.
Pizza Hut is good every now and then. It's its own thing, though. I have to be in the mood for Pizza Hut to want it, not just wanting pizza. Same thing for McDonalds. If I want a hamburger, I'll either make my own or go to a local place that'll make it actually taste like a burger, but every now and then I want McDonalds.

I'm aware this likely makes no sense at all.
makes perfect sense to me, as I was going to say the exact same thing.
Pizza: Abruzzo (70's)
Burgers: Golden star (since 60's)
