i think if hagelin is suspended you'll see kreider in, torts will want to replace him with someone of skill not strength, if he wants scott in the game then he will put him in for mitchell...torts needs to have a chat with staal and mdz out there for both goals against in regulation, can't let that happen.

gotta just forget it, practice tomorrow and get ready to win a game on monday night...let's go rangers!!!!

I'm not too worried. We play good on the road and we'll have Dubinsky back. Hopefully McDonagh is fine. The Sens will be tough but I don't think they can beat us in a 7 game series.

The worst part is they were surging hard after Boyle's goal.

Nice of Richards to show up... Other than his selfish minor penalty, nothing... Looks like he kidnapped Stepan, nothing from him either. Staal after a monster turn in a very average performance.

Tons of chances, how about putting in a few?

game was handed to us on a silver platter......

Just like the regular season........our powerplay cost us the game.

I said then and I say it now. Terrible powerplay will result in an early exit in the playoffs.

The Rangers controlled the puck at the start of overtime, and they were fumbling around with the puck. Then AA takes a dumb icing.

They did it all night tonight. What ever happened to the high flip out of the zone????

They constantly hammer the puck along the boards.

Mike Sullivan loves the chipping the puck up the boards. All of our Dmen do it. Its a pedestrian defensive scheme.

Not real amused by the lack of an interference call at the end.

The refs go from calling everything to calling nothing. Some consistency is all we can ask for. How Konopka didn't get a penalty for throwing jabs on top of Richards in the 3rd is beyond me.

Our top line sucked tonight so lets regroup and beat the **** out these little wannabe goons

If Hags get suspended (which knowing the NHL, he probably will be), let's hope we see Kreider and not Scott.
This will be the toughest part for us to adapt. We don't have an elite face off man like Spezza in the face off circle. When he takes the majority of the teams face offs, we will lose the majority of them. I would have loved signing a top tier center who can win at the circle during the off season.

Unfortunately, when teams goon it up, like Ottawa did, and you don't make them pay on the PP, you often lose. You know the refs are going to even it up later giving them PP's. That said, this idea of stopping playing any offense when you're up one goal late and sitting back cost them the game.

Of course, NBC highlights talk about Carkner and Dubinsky being ejected and how that benefited Ottawa.

How about explaining why they were ejected?

I don't have a lot of faith in this team at the moment beyond round one. They just forget how to play for too long of stretches be it periods, or games.
They only haven't been impressive when they play passive hockey and sit back in their own zone.

How about just making a 4ft pass to a player cutting up? All these chip plays, stretch pass tip ins, and flip outs are completely stupid.

We defer the puck too much.

Yes, yes and yes.

Richards was a god damn ghost. Stepan has been horrible now for a long time, kid just lost his game and doesn't even know where to begin looking for it. Staal had some really **** plays tonight, or just lackadaisical plays.

Did you say the same thing when Boyle did it to Karlsson last game?

did you, or any others here that share your opinion, think that maybe torts did NOT say that? I felt it was more like ottawa came on and rangers got nervous/scared and went into defense mode and couldnt work their way out of it? cuz thats what i think...and the rangers are a team, their a team, they win as a team they lose as a team...difficult to see the team lose, but it is what it is. series is 1-1 now...let's go rangers!!!! go get it done in ottawa for game 3.

also, the 2 goals were bad bounces in regulation and even the last one was a bad bounce....so let's forget refocus tomorrow and get ready for monday's game!

absolutely brutal 3rd period and totally agree with the poster who said we need to let hank see the shots. our d just crowds the net sometimes and we always get trampled over falling on hank or the other team just bumrushes hank. there was just so many wrong things our team was doing in the 3rd period, what happend to the sense of urgency? i expect a fired up dubinsky monday night. lets put this behind us.
