Tampa might not be close to the cap but no way are they adding 12.833 million in 2 contracts. Not that the Flames do that deal either.

Congrats a trade that is equally bad for both teams

They would be with Iginla and Kiprusoff.

Still, won't happen. Too much salary going to TB.

Igoring salary, value wise it's not that bad, but Tampa is rebuilding, so there's no way this would happen.

Value makes no sense. Tampa isn't really lacking offense, but more offensive balance (we need more scoring from our third line), but were still in 8th in scoring this year. We lost something like 300 man games to injury this year so i'd expect that number to sustain and/or climb a little next year.

Tampa needs a stable goaltender and defense, and while Kipper provides that (and provides that in a damn fine way) its would make sense to have a defender coming with, not Iggy. On top of that, its kind of silly to take on those contracts, salary, and ages when we need someone closer to the age of Stamkos rather than St. Louis so we can have sustained success. Also, dumping a 10 pick and a kid that would have been in the top three mix in last years draft if it werent for a hip flexor isn't a good way to do that.

That's terrible in so many ways. First TB can't take in both those saleries, second we don't want old overpriced players for 2 top 10 picks plus another first. Calgary has nothing Tampa wants, we make terrible trading partners. Unless your want to trade Kipper for a 2nd.

I don't see how this helps either team. Calgary waits another 2 to 4 years for the picks to even make the cut and Tampa in the 2 to 4 years lose 3 players if you include St. Louis. The only thing I want in Tampa from Calgary is Giordano and that's not even a necessary.

Hell no. We lack organizational depth and we're not dealing it away for old players.

I am a bit confused by this statement. Last time I checked your farm team has won 26 games in a row. I do not follow the team very closely, but that does tell me that you have a ton of depth.

I do not agree with this trade for Tampa though. Value is fair but with Kipper and Iginla, this team would have too many core guys who are old. It would be a short term fix and it still may not even push them over the top.

If I were Calgary, I would try to push for a propsect/player who is young but who is also proven. The picks and Connolly are young and there is a lot of potential but they are also unproven.

Norfolk has been incredible and there are decent forward and goalie prospects on the farm. But the defensive depth in the organization is wafer thin.

I wouldn't mind having Kipper as a fill in for a couple of years. Would Calgary even want to trade him away? And how pricey would it be?

26 game win streaks dont happen with poor defence. Maybe just very underated defencemen. You guys did also trade for Aulie at the deadline. He is slow and a turn over machine but is a huge guy and has tons of potential to be a shut down defencemen. I just hope he can stop turning over the puck for Tampa's sake.

How about a trade of JBo + Kipper + 2nd for Connolly + Cory Conacher + Goalie prospect

Tampa gets their Goalie + a top pairing defencemen + a 2nd and Calgary gets 2 top offensive prospects to increase their depth after Sven and a random goalie prospect to fill in a hole in the minors when Kipper gets traded.

I could be way off in terms of value but it was worth a shot.

**Make that 27 wins in a row.... The AHL is such a tight league.... I am so impressed by this streak.**

At Bouwmeester's contract, might as well try to outbid everybody for Suter.

Kipper is good, but we are looking for a permanent answer in net.

He hasn't turned over anymore pucks than any other defender on our team. And he's slow? During the last handful of games he single handily skated back to break up multiple breakaway attempts.

Agreed. I would rather dip into free agency than trade away both of our top picks.

Norfolk has been beasting it up right now, though the offensive fire power on that team is just effin stupid. We actually will have a legit problem offensively in a few years, will have way too many guys with top 6 potential that will be NHL ready. WE will need to dish them off, if we are going to do that, I would much rather it be for either mid to high end Defensive prospects, or a young net minder to guard the nets for us.

I like Kipper, and Iggy. Both of them should retire as a Flame anyhow.

Don't think TB touches a deal like this. I think they would be more interested in Kipper at the moment but I have no idea what his value would be. I don't think Yzerman would move Connolly for him so maybe Detroit's pick and a good prospect or 2.

Yeah, TB needs defense and a goalie - Iggy doesn't solve any problems for them.

Kipper would be nice, but SFY is looking for a long time solution.
