If Hagelin gets suspended and Philips doesn't, the NHL offices in the city better have their janitors on hand, because I'm going to egg the **** out of it.

Nothing for Carkner on the sucker punch? Typical NHL. Follow up an poorly reffed game with poorly meted justice.

the only difference between Hagelins hit and Philips hit, was that there was an injury.

Both are dangerous plays, imho, both should be penalized equally.

I meant Carkner, not Philips.

For whatever reason, Shanahan and his handlers have decided that intent doesn't matter if there is no injury. So Hagelin will be suspended and Phillips probably won't, merely because Alfie was injured and Cally wasn't. I don't think the league will ever get it right when it comes to discipline and deterrence.

If Carkner isn't ****ing done, he can answer to Scott next game. If he won't go with him seeing as he doesn't have the balls to, Scott can just pummel him seeing as it's not a suspendable offense.

Kreider in For Hags.

Have Scott in for Mitchell and let Scott go to work on someone.

Heck have Scott pummel someone to see which Sen gets a 3rd man in.

Besides looking at Hagelin's hit, Carkner's attack vs Boyle and Chris Phillips elbow of Ryan Callahan will also be reviewed by Shanahan.

1 game at most. Maybe try Kreider out in his absence? (not on the 1st line, obvi)

That'll be up to Torts though as he's the only one who knows if he's ready.

And was Carkner's attacking a player that is laying on the ice a suspend-able offense? Like... what a cheap-shotting d-bag. At least give Boyle the chance to square up and fight.

If Alfredsson wasn't so fragile, this would be a non-issue.

The sens guy on the main board talking about 'codes' and 'rules of play' is going to be upset with this.

Exactly. If he weren't one hit away from being brain dead, he wouldn't have gotten hurt on that play and it'd be a 2-minute minor just like the Phillips hit on Callahan.

who boarded stepan a couple feet in front of walsh in the third? am i the only person that saw that? certainly wasn't an elbow, but certainly warrants a look... stepan was defenseless...

i didn't re-watch to make sure, but it looked like a pretty blatant boarding to me.

Probably Neil or Phillips, I can't remember. If it wasn't late in the game, I bet it would have been called a penalty.

If Hags gets a game or two, it could end up being the best thing to happen to this team in the post-season. Kreider might get his shot, and if he comes in and starts adding another element of offensive threat, when Hagelin gets back, the line-up just got a lot better. Mitchell or Rupp will sit.

That's really the only good that could come of this.

In the future folks, please report trolls and do not reply to them. You made me have to delete like 30 posts of cleanup to salvage the thread.

Can those same trolls get banned from our board until this series is over?

Well I mean in our defense it didn't start out like that. Was just some heated P.O. talk. Its amazing though how fast it can turn from that to flat out trolling.

Lol I went to click on page 2 and it was gone.

Anyway, I could see Hagelin getting suspended and as much as it would suck I don't think it is too crazy. It was an unfortunate play that led to an injury of an all star captain.
However, that being said, I do think that if Hagelin is suspended Phillips should be as well, it was the same play, the only difference between the two is that Cally wasn't injured. Even though that shouldn't be a factor we have seen that it is.

Carkner (and Ian Walsh) should be suspended regardless of what happens to Hagelin.

If all three of those things happen I would be ok. If only Hagelin is suspended I will be pissed.

Of course the inconsistency in the league after not suspending Weber is a whole different argument.

How was Moo able to salvage this thread?

I'm not saying it was aliens.

But it was aliens.

Who would have thought we might use Scott against the Sens?

Scratch Mitchell, start Scott on the fourth line and have Kreider fill in Hagelin's spot.

When trolls enter into the picture, report them. We will determine what happens. All you need to concern yourself with is reporting them so we mods can deal with them.
