I have had that problem before where the games didn't count toward contracts or stats but I always got the pucks. It hasn't happened to me in a while though.

I have a question...WTF is up with this ******** where everyone is just pushing forward to win faceoffs? Ever since the latest tuner, everyone just pushes forward. I don't have a problem if it's every now and then, but it works 75% of the time and it's ridiculous...

Its to tie up at the draw and yeah it happens. But if you can get good at faceoffs you can beat it.

I never really got into HUT, but was thinking of starting a team now in order to get ready for next year. Right now, I got a team full of scrubs and no pucks.

Any advice?

The only packs you should buy is the Jumbo Deal pack available on the weekends.
Its best to buy individual cards on the weekend and sell later in the week.

Play a few games (you should get 300-500 pucks per game even if ur players suck), then either

A) buy a jumbo when they are on for 2500

B) buy players/contracts on the market during sale days, then re-sell mid-week for a profit (or use the players in your team. During jumbos you can usually get 80-85ovr NHLers for dirt cheap)

Most pucks I ever had at once was 50,000 in NHL 11. As of right now though I've got 65,000 and I still have around 50 NHLers to sell. About the only one that will sell for a decent profit is Rinne but if I can get an average of 500-600 pucks for each one I should be nearing 100,000 pucks.

I'm also selling off my NHLers (got about 100-150 to get rid of), focusing on completing Q league collections (and grabbing an HOFer or 2 so i can have fun with them. Bought a Salming with 20gms left for 1500 ). Best of luck to you, the market for them has sunk badly....

((What would you want for your Rinne tho?))

Play the single player tournaments before playing online . I wouldn't waste any money this year on packs either

Well naturally the markets going to be down now because Jumbos just expired. Should be able to sell most of my players for decent prices starting Wednesday. I see Rinnes selling for like 2,000 which is just ridiculous. I'm looking to sell mine for around 3,000-3,500. I'm really not looking for anything right now. I'm just finishing my new team. I'll use it "naked" for 30 games then use some contracts on em', put them all at 15 games, then slap 30 gamers on all of my players and use my full consumable pile training them all.

Has anyone on xbox noticed a LOT of Tuukka Rasks? I've been playing against a ton of Rasks lately. Like, 5 of my last 8 or so against different teams have had Tuukka Rask, and one of my friends has played a couple too.

What is with this swarm of Rasks?!

Well I'm sure some people just like him, but as far as goalies he's one of the easiest to train up. 88 overall starting and 5 training slots I believe gets you a fairly cheap 98 overall goalie.

Lot of Rasks on PS3 as well. I tried him once and he wasn't very good, especially the first 10 or 15 games. He let in a lot of soft goals. I didn't go all out training him or anything. Just 3 90 stats and 2 91 stats.

Gotta stay in it! if you can even pull off a goal or two after that, you can still win pucks at the end of the game without using up a game played on all of your players

I just don't understand the goalies in this game.

I used to rotate between Rask and Backstrom. Both have GAA over 3 and save percentages south / at 800. Losing records. A fully tained, 90 OA Robin Lehner similarly struggles all the time.

Untrained Matt Hackett: 11-2-0, 2.20 GAA, 900 sv.

(Similar numbers with Louis Domingue and a few others).

I used to think that people were kidding with this stuff, but there really does seem to be something to the logic of using a sub-80 goaltender.

From what I've heard, training doesn't mean a whole lot. What you want is goaltenders that are tall. The bigger goaltenders in this game have the advantage over smaller goaltenders because they don't have to move as far to stop one timers and they won't get beat over the shoulder as often as they're taller. Guys like Lindback, Dubnyk, Rinne, Lehtonen, Massien (QMJHL), Bobkov (WHL), and Bishop.

Ugh. . . . . just spent every last puck I had left (about 80,000) on jumbos and didn't really get much of anything valuable. It seems I'm doomed to never get a Legend, Ovi, Crosby, Malkin, or even a P. Kane or Toews.

I've asked this before, but has anyone ever pulled a legend out of the sale pack? My working theory is that they aren't included.

I've personally pulled a Steve Yzerman and a Gordie Howe in Jumbo Packs so it's mostly luck.

They are, but I'm just unlucky.

Not sure if it's actually a steal at all but I just got an UT SOTW H. Sedin for 9,000 BIN. I figure that if a regular UT H. Sedin sells for 7,000-8,000 pucks then a SOTW version must sell for at least 10,000 right?

I mean even mid-week (3-4days after jumbos), th prices arent as good as they were earlier in the season. Most of my players are only selling for 300-500 (though i'm buying them for 150-200 during jumbos, so i guess i can't complain )
