I was very interested to hear your thoughts on the games coaching by Dale...

Isn't that vat Karl said in the video? We can go round and round on this one.

Yeah Ref I pretty much clinched the caps making the playoffs by booking a ticket to be a place where sleeping will be more reasonable than watching the games.

Dale appeared to be close to winning last game. Many Bruins fans seem to think we played a strong game after a weak first. Surviving the first period on the road without giving up a goal is usually a good start. The trap was set. I don't know if we got close to scoring or not, but imagine Ovi Green or Semin missed the net on a damn good chance to win it in the 3rd.

I think I like the lines on the road. It's almost like a OV's weird grind line is a red herring, leaving 2/3 to be a bit overloaded for favorable matchups. Not sure what will happen at home though.

Of course it was. And, yes, I did put my money where my mouth was.

Also, I give him a lot of slack, but Mike Green is officially pissing me off: Casual plays, no second efforts.

Ovi is playing the sacrifice role right now so the others can benefit of not having Chara/Seidenberg on them. True captain's play.

How long before Holtby is in their heads? Thomas is expected to play like this, Holtby is a total unknown to everyone.

No pressure is awesome.

Way way better than going into it Number 1 and then stinking out the joint consistently.

Pens fan coming in peace...

I figured Holtby would be the hot goalie this postseason because it just made too much sense to not happen (Although his career trajectory might be different, his play before the postseason reminded me of a couple former Pens netminders from the late 90s and early 2000s who were also throw into the playoffs, like Tognutt and Hedberg).

But, watching your team play dedicated team defense in the postseason with this group in the postseason for the first time... that's a shock and both games have been a real pleasure to watch.

Congrats on a hard-earned road win. I want you to know that, in my bracket, I picked the Capitals to go to the Eastern Conference Finals for a reason.

I know Dale Hunter reads this thread avidly.. So can we please get Halpern or knuble in for a game? A please? I like Aucoin but ffs he's a 5'8 career AHLer.. Someone with some size and experience surely would be better off in the playoffs.

I was happy to see MJ make that great play and Backstrom score. With Ovi bottled up, they'll have to continue to come through. And I don't think Semin has been doing anything differently, but good for him to get some recognition for playing hard.

I also like the fact that MP so far has been holding up pretty well against the Bruins, not really giving them the opportunity to punish him physically.

Hamrlik has been very solid, like others have noted -- good for him. And Holtby has been solid as well, though I sort of expect him to tire out at some point..

I love that they tried to interfere with mojo on the draw and it bit them in the ass

There was a tweet from earlier today saying that every cup winner since lockout had a better save percentage in playoffs vs the regular season.

So now we know dale's plan....

So Monday is annual "The rest of HFBoards has no idea how ****** our GDTs always are, and thinks we are mocking the opposing team by submitting a zero-effort one to the playoff boards" day.

Can't wait

Never cared much for the fancy GDTs except for tele/radio and line ups. Though I think caps posters here just really just want to 'start a gdt' .

Can we just troll the main boards by not making a GDT tomorrow at all? Just discretely hold the discussion in the Fantasy Hockey Inquiries thread or something.

Maybe it's the South Carolinian in me speaking but I always fancied a secession from the main boards and their wretched hive of homerific ignoramuses.

It's happened before, and they wound up taking the other team's thread.

Drake and Dream Big have made very good legit GDTs in the past. And there's another poster whose name is escaping me (he had Hunter in a blue jersey for his/her avatar) who has a ridiculous record on them. I think it's kind of funny that almost no one here really cares about GDTs though.
