The Isles don't have a lot of prospects who are physical, are defenseman, and can play solid defense.

Gaunce isn't top 10 material IMO. I believe Teravainen will be higher on everybody's board come draft day.

Yak, Forsberg, Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, Faksa and Teravainen all look like they could have top line upside. Gaunce looks like a really good 2C, but doesn't quite have the upside you want in a top 10 pick. Does everything well and nothing great. A really safe pick to be a top 6 center if that's what you're looking for though.

I also think the Isles have a great opportunity in this draft to stock the cupboards on defense. If they can draft Murray(seems likely) and grab one of the late 1st ranked guys(Thrower, Lindholm) in the 2nd round it would be a huge step forward for them.

If we can walk away with Murray and Thrower with our first 2 picks I will be estatic...

We have enough offensive prospects to do this.....

While you're right, you take claims like that WAY too seriously.

No I don't, but I can infer that our scouting staff is smarter than that.

I agree but I still think he'll go top 10. I don't think Winnipeg takes a winger, if they don't take another center they'll take defense, but I think Gaunce is a guy they'll reach for. Obviously Faksa is ideal for them at the spot but I don't see him lasting tilll 9 to be honest.

There really is only one Canadian forward with top 10 talent and that's Marcantuoni however he has too many injury concerns to even go in the first round.

Hard to factor this into any mock draft but this may be the year NJ forfeits their first rounder

They will if Lou has any sanity. Our goal tenders for next year aren't set in stone. It looks like most of the talent available at 20-30 will be defenseman which we do not need and forwards that could easily drop to our second pick. We also have picks in later rounds to make up for the lost pick.

How does Jesse Graham look? Still 2nd Round talent? I would love to see the Devils pick up a nice puck moving defenseman like him.

It looks like this draft has the potential to have the more steals than any other.

I think this will be a good year for goalies. BTW, the Habs will draft one of those in the second.
