This is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened now and I HATE it. My star forward has requested a move because "he wants a new challenge."
edit: Columbus has offered me their number 1 center in a 1 for 1 swap, and I'm thinking of taking it. Maric wants out and is an impending UFA who I don't want to lose for nothing. One downfall to this, is that many players on my team appear to love Maric as a teammate as quite a few of them have him on their "favorite staff" list. I hope it doesn't affect team morale too much.
Just got the game awhile ago myself. Played my first season with the Lightning and did okay (7th overall in east, eliminated in 2nd round of playoffs). I noticed that I really have streaks of wins and then a losing streak. Any tactic advice to keep things more... consistent?
If you get on a bit of a losing skid, try mixing up the lines a little... maybe changing around some practice regimes. Just shaking things up can snap a funk.
So in my Victoria franchise I just had my core guys ranked for the 1st time by the ISS and I have guys ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 22nd and thats just the 1st rounders. Who knows what they will actually be picked as or even finish the season ranked as but I'm going to keep an eye on it, never had so many players ranked so close.
Another quick question. I read a lot about these awesome regen players. So, when do players start retiring (I don't think I've had one yet...) and where can I look for those regen versions of them?

TAKE that deal. You may see a drop in your GF statistic or powerplay %, but its always good to drop players who have commitment issues. Not to mention, you get a player who is younger and still has improvement room.
quick question for you guys, i recently got into EHM07 and ive found it quite enjoyable so far. Ive run into one glitch so far, i was hoping someone would have a idea to fix it.
Anytime i try to recall someone on a one way contract from my AHL team they have to undergo re entry waivers BUT if the player is not claimed he isnt sent to my NHL team, he is re assigned to my AHL as if i had sent him down.
I'm not quite sure if I remember it correctly, as I haven't played the game in a while, but I think you need to click on recall again, if that makes any sense.
In other words:
The game will mention that he has to pass recall-waivers, you click that you want to do that. At that point the game doesn't consider him to be recalled, it just considers him to be on waivers. What you need to do is click on recalling him again, right after you answered the waiver-question. That should move him to your NHL-roster. If you just answer the waiver-question, the player will not be recalled, just be put on waivers.

I decided to take it, and Ling is having a pretty big impact already. 15 points in 7 games.
Damn Gretzky's single playoff points record is insane. Hard to break that in just 16 games. Lindfors had 44 (23+21) this playoff, and that's still 3 points off.
Anyway, time for the very good 2018 draft class:
30th:
On first sight, he might seem like somewhat overpaid 3rd liner, but he has won two Selkes, and was finalist twice more. A very useful player.
60th:
And here's Pelletier's partner in crime on the 3rd line and 1st PK. Excellent ratings for his role, and another very good pick.
90th:
Spent a few years as my 4th line enforcer. Not a bad player either.
120th:
4th line center for almost a decade, with solid enough performances. He seems like he should be doing better though, given his skills. Still, another good pick. I'm letting him walk as UFA after this season, as I want to try out other centers from the system, and maybe he can get a bigger role elsewhere. He certainly deserves it.
150th:
Good in AHL. He's signed for one more year, so he'll probably get a chance as #7 next season.
180th:
On one hand, getting a solid NHLer from 6th round is a roaring success. OTOH, he's always left something to desire, given his skills and insane junior numbers. Filled in as LW all his career, anywhere from 2nd to 4th line. UFA and gone after this season, hopefully he'll get a 2nd line C gig somewhere.
210th:
Injury insurance policy, he's been good in AHL, but they didn't play him much in last few years (and not at all this season), and he refused any loans anywhere, so I'm letting him walk this summer.

Just happened with Matt Cooke couple of weeks after I've got swept in 4 games in the 1st round of the playoff
Do you guys usually add a second GM in order to control your AHL team as well?
You can, and I am sure most people do. It is a good way to ensure that your young studs get the best training/coaching staff possible to help there development along.
There's more important attributes than that anyway. Sure, WWY is nice, but I'll rather have a goalie coach with 20 in goalie coaching and 5 in WWY than vice versa.
Hate when this happens! Shouldn't Niittymaki be a bit better than this?
2.45 gaa, .903 save%, had save% .902 last year and we were among best defensive teams in the league, .908 first year and we were 2nd best defensive team. I just hate when i shoot 60 times and oponent's goalie has 10 rating, we give up 17 shots and my goalie has 6 rating
I mean awsome 3 shutouts, last year he had 12 by far the best any of my goalies had in a season for me, but 4,6,4 rating? Can't win like that :/
