I'm kind of surprised he's still buried in Europe. He's posting decent numbers (I can't ever tell because of how Europe plays) and probably could have had one or two good seasons left. I'm just surprised there has been no word about him.
Believe me, you don't want him in your net. He's one of the worst goaltenders in the league here in switzerland. Can't imagine how bad he would be in the NHL...

He must be doing something right with a 1.99 GAA and .932 %.

Don't know where you got those numbers. Actually it's 2.44 GAA and .917 %.
The thing about him is, that he falter almost everytime when its matters.
And he gets really bad goals on a regular basis...

I believe those numbers are from this year's playoffs.
You dont have to like him and we have seen he can be a liabillity but people here exaggerate so much. He's putting up some good numbers over there and than you say he's one of the worst goalies. What about those other great gems the Swiss league has to offer ?
BTW I'm Dutch and Kloten Flyers is still my favorite team in the league.
Wasn't good enough regularly enough at that salary to be worth playing. It says something about the player (and the owners, but that's a different discussion) when the franchise is willing to pay $5m a year to keep you OFF the roster.
He was under contract with the Hawks the last two years for over 5 million. With the cap situation the Hawks were in there was no way they could keep Cristobal on the roster. His Hawks payday is over after this season though so he has a chance to sign somewhere with an NHL team if he wants to try and come back.
Still for a player from France he did pretty good. I don't know how badly did he take leaving Montreal but it must of been pretty harsh. People often unde-rate how much it affects players when they get traded or not signed by their team. So that leaves Stephane Da Costa as the only French from France player in the league, funny that there's no British player at all.
