It's basically going to take someone BERTUZZI ing another player again before anything changes . What a joke . I have no problem with 62 getting a game , despite the fact that Alfie looked to try and duck the check a bit and that's how he got hit so high . But if Shea Weber can ram a guys face into the glass and not miss a game not sure how a PURE HOCKEY PLAY , albeit a debatably reckless one gets judged diff
i watched it in slow-mo a good handful of times this morning. hagelin's principal contact was the shoulder, it slid up and went into his head(albeit with a ton of force). ducking might've happened, but i think he was just trying to get away and he was kind of caught by surprise. he stuck his stick up and hagelin's hands went up to avoid the stick as he was checking. it was a sloppy move by hags. a game will probably help the atmosphere, but it was no worse than the hit on cally (which i honestly thought was more malicious looking)
hags looked upset with himself-- probably not helping his case
i'm sure the speed he was moving with really made it tough to back out once he was that close.

I agree and think he will get at least a game still, which would hopefully calm thing down a bit.
Didn't the Phillips hit come after hagelin? IMO that makes his intent even more obvious I.e. captain for captain.
Hagelin play once again was a PURE HOCKEY PLAY . I honestly feel there was no intent to injure . Hagelin has no history im pretty sure of any dirty play . The guy has never had a major for Christ sakes .
The conference IMO should be with the coaches . Someone else used the bean ball analogy . Both teams warned by NHL / SHANNY. Control your players .
The Sens seemed awfully proud of themselves after the game
Did anyone catch any of the post game comments from the sens? They seemed like they were beating their chests big time. That really doesn't bode well for us. Hopefully the Rangers carry a chip on their shoulder for game 3 like the sens did in game 2...
I don't want to start a pro vs anti Avery discussion but would it be theoretically possible to call him up or no? He hasn't even been playing hockey right?

It bodes really well for us. Let the Sens think what they want to think, let them bear overconfidence. If you think the Rangers and Torts aren't infuriated about last night, then you haven't been following this team. The Rangers will come out to play tomorrow night, without a doubt.

Their fans seem to be acting the same way. They're in for a rude awakening tomorrow night.

Yep. I loved Sean but if he hadnt acted like a child while getting sent down the first time maybe it's a possibility, but not anymore.

well i'm pretty sure since he was not on the NHL roster at the trade deadline he can't not to mention sather has sent him his retirement papers to sign a month or so ago...id say avery is done in the nhl...sorry
IMO there's just no way Hags had intent to hurt Alfredsson or hit him in the head. I'm basing my opinion on the situation and on the fact that Swede on Swede is quite rare when it comes to serious hits. Also, Alfredsson is a bit like Lidström over here. They're players you just don't hurt, playoffs or not.
Avery would be perfect fit in the playoffs. Would be, could be, should be. Forget it.
Lol I guess this sums it up. Would love to see ho he would've reacted last night. I could see him being very effective and purposely being in karlsons face all night... Or taking a bunch of emotional penalties and doubling our time on the pk
Ugh, reading the Ottawa board makes me sick. Talk about a bunch of ******** on their board, saying that they need to take more of our players out and injure them. Because we all know Hagelin tried to injure his fellow Swede Alfie, get real Sens fans, ignorant plugs.
We need to go into the next game, play our game, and absolutely beat the piss out of them on the score sheet. We've done this all year, and will continue to do it. Gabby and Richards need to have big games.

Of course you guys are taking the series, I mean you are the 1st seed, and HEAVY favourites. I am, however, bookmarking this thread just in case......
Yeah, he didn't play a big part in our PP goal last night or anything.
I don't know if this is sarcastic or not, but what was it that he did on that PP goal that was scored by Stralman, or for that matter, any of the other power plays in the series as well as overall in both games?
Can someone get a picture of the ****ing ref just standing there and watching as Boyle gets the **** kicked out of him? I truly believe that losing Dubinsky made this game 100x less likely to be won and it was all that refs fault. What exactly is Dubinsky expected to do and how is it a 3rd man in if only one man is fighting?
