The show is entertaining in a way but its still a show that takes a lot of medical license to make it entertaining. The new york times ( and more recently the atlantic) proved that there is a pretty good market for disingenuous and self rightous concern for the safety of guys willing to drop them.

The more research, the more prospective fighters are educated about the risk. The more they choose to fight or not.

Bertuzzi's response to Weber the other day was as good an example of the "place" for fighting as ever. There are aspects of the game that aren't controlled by penalties called or suspensions given.

It's part of the game and the game will have been castrated if/when fighting of all sorts is banned.
