Mavericks@Lakers is still in the 3rd quarter. Canucks@Kings is supposed to begin in 5.5 hours. I expect the ice to be ridiculously bad...which is probably not a good thing for the canucks.
I'd have no issues with MG letting go of AV, but brining in MacTavish would irritate me. Seeing as it's more than likely he replaces AV, I'd rather stick it out with the lesser of the two evils.
Makes you wonder why AV didn't consider this kid of rotation in the finals last season
I think Lu and the team knows that this isn't a goaltending thing but really something to change up the team.
Hard to fault Luongo for any goal except maybe the Richards 5-on-3 goal and well that was on a 5-on-3. Would have loved for him to stop Browns breakaway. The other goals usually involved empty nets after his own defensemen came crashing into him.
Because Schneider looked a bit nervous in the playoffs last season, even if he played okay, and you don't take that type of risk in the finals.

Mac T is a good coach. He turned chicken **** into salad for years in Edmonton, and when management finally got him even a little ounce of talent he guided them to the finals.

In hindsight, it may appear that way, but I vividly remember trolling some Oiler fans hard on how bad of a coach Mac T was. He made the playoffs 2 out of the 8 years and his team never finished higher than 3rd in the Northwest. Not an ideal fit.
Schnieder getting the start is pure desperation. I doubt it does anybody any good, especially Schnieder! Starting a cold goalie is no way to kickstart a playoff team!!!
Given that Schnieder often whiffs on one goal and the Canucks have so far only managed two a night on LA, I guess they are hoping for a defensive contest. This is expecting a lot from the defense!
I expect this gambit to fail, but I guess you have to try everything in this situation. At least the team won't be underestimating LA any more.
Man, watching Philadelphia only makes me 10 times angrier at Gillis and AV. ****ing 3 scoring lines is how you win in the playoffs, not 1.5 and then 3 checking lines.
As long as Schneider stays in his net, he should be fine....problem is, he doesn't seem to like staying in his net...he suffers from a bad case of Arturs Irbe.

Yeah, Schneider whiffed his way to a 1.96gaa and a .937sv%.

It obviously is pure desperation, but you know - should we get eliminated - people will question why we didn't give Schneider a shot.
We have our backs against the wall. Hopefully - HOPEFULLY - it'll fire up the team even just a little.
-Schneider will play well enough to get the win. He will allow a few to get across.
-The will team play a lot more confident with him in net; less crashing into their own goalie. As a result Schneider plays the rest of the series.
-Offense is allowed to get setup in the zone 5on5 and we score on a PPs. Henrik and Kesler turn it up, while the 4th line get a few good non-penalty energy shifts.
-Edler wakes the **** up. Hansen, pahlsson, and Higgins, unsung heroes again.

Yup. And we could have easily had that scoring depth here if AV groomed our players into those roles.
