Man there is absolutely no defence in the Pitts-Philly series. Also is it just me or is M-A Fleury the most overrated goalie in the league? If we had as much offensive power as Pittsburgh Price would win every game.
Because he wasn't playing for a High School in Minnesota. For a while there that seemed to be his criteria. Timmins hasn't redeemed himself fully yet for that but he's on his way.
What I admire with the flyers is everyone from coach all the way up has confidence in prospects and they play them a lot in all situations. Can Laviolette speak French?

Which is also strange, is that Timmins loves the US as he should. And yet, we haven't been able to discover one just good UFA coming from the US, our greatest UFA ended up to be....Brock Trotter. While Philly has Matt Read. While Florida ended up with Garrison etc....So that would be Timmins weaknesses. You love a country, a system, you should dominate it. And he has to be better in Quebec as well. But as a management, we had to believe in Quebec as well. Don't tell me we wouldn't have been happy with guys on our bottom lines like Talbot and Laperrière prior to his injury. Or keeping a guy like Lapierre. This whole awareness that despite a lower quantity of players that the quality is still there needs to be taken care of.

We do love Price.....though Fleury still has 1 more cup than him. And what people will try to say is that he wasn't decisive in that cup, well you just want to remember what you want, 'cause he WAS decisive in that cup. And Price still has to show that he can bring it regularly in the playoffs. That's not done yet. He can. He probably will. But we're not there yet.

No he wasn't. He was great when they reached the Finals the year before. He was only alright when they won the Cup.

How can you say he will and he can when he hasn't?!?
One has to wonder if we are going to see sweeping changes in Pittsburgh this summer...
3 years removed from the Stanley Cup and not remotely close since... They have a very good team but their level of talents have significant drop offs outside of the Big 4 on offense, some questionable defense and outright terrible goaltending..
I've said it for years, they are better off trading one of Malkin/Crosby in a massive deal to try to even out the teams other issues.
