Actually, not really. There's 8 teams that picked right after. And no way was Giroux a consensus top 10 pick. Most likely, in that draft which was not that strong, Giroux could have left from 15 to 25. So I'd say 10 teams.

Add the fact that some of those teams just don't believe in Quebec, it is possible that nobody are looking back at this 'cause the idea was that you couldn't evaluate such a bad league, so you couldn't evaluate Giroux properly. On the other hand, he was in our own backyard. We also had the privilege to have a 2nd combine for the Q players which the other teams didn't have. And in the end, we ended up picking a total project, a guy that was known as a project, as a boom or bust....maybe just like Giroux. So project for project.....we picked a D because of admitted NEEDS.....So this is why this is bashed so much. And mostly on our end. Yet again, what I love about people in here who KEEPS bringing the "But we're not the only one who made that mistake"....can you just freakin go look at the main board, or in the different boards from all the teams that picked ahead of the Flyers and you will see some comments about "How the hell did our team missed him"......So we are not the only one. Yet, we're talking about what our own team should have made differently.

This series along with the Pens/Flyers series have been the most entertaining so far, for completely different reasons.

Bull ****. Great series.
You must enjoy watching chess. Not blaming the Bruins. Caps have little emotion outside of Ovi.

Because he didn't enroll HFboards fans for advice, which all have 20/20 hindsight. Stupid him and the other 20 or so teams.

Maybe because he has the talent?

So he needs to convert that to actual play, which is what I'm saying. People keeps saying how great Price is and yet they don't acknowledge that we have no idea how he is on a long run in the playoffs when it's another season. Yet....he has the talent to succeed.

Seriously, at this point the only Penguin without at least one cheap shot is Matt Cooke.

Where is the respect anymore? Neal, you wanna show you care and send a message? Hit him clean, hit him fair. Or ask for a fight if you want. But that was blatantly obvious and interference at its finest. What a joke. First Asham now this. So much for class from the Pens.

What's Fd up in this whole thing, is there was some extra attention on the Q that year because of several potential Forwards going 1st round... Giroux actually was the 3rd Forward from the Q drafted that year. Brassard and Sheppard both went Top-10 and didn't meet their NHL projections. They're not even close to the player Giroux has become... Everybody still missed him.

And this is why the bush league goon stuff from the Bruins last year should've been nipped in its bud. The playoffs are turning into a circus.
