Had is fist AHL shutout last night, to help the Phantoms win 1-0.

Made big saves, including a penalty shot and another breakaway in the 3rd period.

Nice to see he's playing much better his 2nd year in North America.

About time he starts looking like the real deal. I understand he needed to get use to the rink size and all but I was beginning to wonder about him.

Good Job Niittymak!!!!

Does anyone know how AHL satatistics compare to the NHL for Goalies? It is probably different for everyone, but I wonder if the chances are roughly equal: the forwards arent as good, but neither is the defense. How well do the stats correlate?

AHL is usually a higher scoring league than the NHL for a few reasons.

#1. Defense isn't nearly as good.

#2. Systems aren't as well played or designed.

#3. Usually a quite a bit more power plays in an average AHL game than in the NHL.

His relatively mediocre rookie season wasn't anything not expected.

Pavel Brendl is a fat slob.
i saw him and his team when they came to Manchester earlier this year, he took 8 minutes in penalties and looked like a he belonged where he is right now. he stinks and im so glad we got rid of that fat slob.

But please, tell us how you really feel. I'm not sure it came through in all that.

Anyway, good to see Antero win this award. Hopefully, he can keep up his play and prove a good prospect. From looking around the league, it definitely appears you can never have too many good goalies available to you...
