So who's on the first line with Gaborik and Richards?

The PACK line was practicing together today. Stepan has been playing like dog ****. Who other than Kreider should be on the top line LW spot?

That's just unreasonable. Maybe after the first game. There's no way Torts is going to put Kreider out there with the first line in his first NHL game.

Couple days ago I'd agree with you but now it's worth a try even if it happens at practice first.

How much better is Hagelin than Kreider to make this unreasonable, I don't think that there's any question of speed being there or skill.

I think Kreider will start with Boyle and Prust. He's told to play a simple physical cycle game.

If he plays well Torts moves him up.

You just don't know with younger players.

Maybe Kreider surprises?

People are automatically assuming he won't do much. Which is understandable because this will be his first pro game.

Then again, you look at Stepan who has played 2 full pro seasons now, but looks like a deer in headlights here in the playoffs.

Actually, based on some posts, I think everyone is expecting Kreider to be NHL 1st lie ready.

guaranteed if kreider plays tomorrow, he gets a goal. He's gonna get a rebound goal, I can see it already.

I'd have to change pants several times if that happens.

Kind of ironic that Kreider is replacing the guy he was told to watch. (theoretically, not on the actual line.)

Let's see what he can do!

Put Kreider with Stepan on the 4th line for starters. Then see where it goes. You play Scott and you are playing into Ottawa's hands.

i'd go with

Anisimov-Richards-Gaborik (Ani is playing well and is defensively sound)
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan (best chance at secondary scoring)
Dubinsky-Boyle-Prust (pure shut down trio)
Rupp-Mitchell-Feds (sufficient for a 4th line)

I doubt we'll need to dress Scott. I mean, we will play OUR game better without him in the line up. We have guys who can handle themselves so unless we are looking to have some sort of slug fest and want to bring a nuclear bomb to the party, keep Mitchell. If we go into a long overtime game, you'll want Mitchell over Scott on the bench. Rather, you don't want Torts having to resort to shortening the bench because Scott is in the lineup.

I'm liking a lot of these lines but I like having Kreider with Prust so that we won't have any Sens taking liberties on Kreider during his first game.

I'd have to say if Feds were suspended, then maybe Scott plays. But Hagelin's speed will be missed and his ability to play well on that top line. CK just might be the guy.

I'd choose him over anyone else at this point. We need goals.

This. At the very least for Game 3. If Kreider wilts (not saying it will happen, but it's always a possibility) and Scott is in, then the Rangers are basically a 3-line team.

I'd go with:

Feds/Richards/Gaborik
Dubi/Ani/Cally
Kreider/Stepan/Rupp
Mitchell/Boyle/Prust

Those are four lines that can play a regular shift (and Torts can occasionally double-shift Gaborik and Callahan on that line with Kreider and Stepan). Rupp provides protection for Stepan (who has already been targeted by Sens goons) and Kreider (who will surely be targeted).

Really interested to see what happens tomorrow with Kreider. I don't think Torts would play him much if hes in the line up.

He wont be significant ice time unless he earns it. If hes playing crap, Torts will scrabble the lines immediately and he can sit most of the game.
