So the media is trying to hype his possible return. But given how big and physical the Kings play, are the Canucks dumb enough to stick him in if he's not 100%? I mean, one hit by Richards or Brown and lights out.
Yeah, considering he needed a day off after just skating around the day before the series started I really doubt he's ready for full NHL contact. I don't think he's going to be back for this series.
As per Kristin Reid.

I've been told not only will Daniel Sedin not travel to LA for Games 3 and 4- he will not be available at all in this series

It would be a shame to rush him through this kind of injury. I would have liked to see him play this series but with the setback he has already had even if they pushed him in, it's highly unlikely he would be a force. Not worth the risk. Let the man recover.
It would be very stupid and reek of desperation to bring him back early. They could risk his entire season next year if he gets another bad head shot, and the way that this series has been the Kings won't be holding back from throttling him nor should they.

Concussions are different with everyone. Some last months with players where some only days. For example Giroux's concussion was fully cleared only 10 days later.
But ether way I don't think it's like the older days where a player with a concussion can touch the ice without being fully cleared on all terms with a doctor. I don't think any team in the current day NHL can knowingly rush a player back even if they wanted to.

You quoted a story from before yesterday's game.
Very old news. Since replaced by updated news, see above.
DANIEL SEDIN NOT TRAVELLING WITH CANUCKS TO LOS ANGELES
Quote:
When the Vancouver Canucks depart for Los Angeles on Saturday for the next two games of their Western Conference quarterfinal series with the Kings, injured forward Daniel Sedin will not be on the plane.
Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Sedin will not travel with the team while general manager Mike Gillis added the team is unsure on Sedin's status for the remainder of the series. Game 3 is slated for Sunday night.
Just changed the title so we can talk about his absence. I don't think bringing him back with Mike Richards flying all over the ice like a lunatic would be smart strategy, and they won't do so. Unless they claw back to 2-2, it is not worth it.

doh, my fault for thinking ESPN would've removed an old story from their main news page. I should've double checked.
What way to start the morning--love it and according to the rules laid out by canuck fans to to oiler fans for the past 3 years--injury problems are not proper excuses

awwwww....the little swedish Barbie still has headaches. Poor baby. How come nobody in the media feels sorry for Gagne?
As much as I respect Gagne, you can't compare him to Daniel Sedin. Gagne is injury prone and has declined to the point of irrelevancy. With a healthy D.Sedin in the lineup this series might very well be 2-0 for the Canucks. Definitely a difference maker

Gagne's 14 goals and 10 assists in 34 playoff games over the past two seasons beg to differ. He's a proven playoff performer, and actually has a higher goals per game in the playoffs than Daniel. Sorry, but the Kings missing Gagne is far from irrelevant.

Daniel Sedin is not the reason the Canucks lost both games.
Alex Edler is very responsible for both losses. As is the invisibility of one Ryan Kesler.
