(a) a win at Albany, OR
(b) a Manchester regulation loss vs. St. John's, OR
(c) a Portland regulation loss at Providence, OR
(d) an OTL/SOL at Albany AND either a Manchester OTL/SOL vs. St. John's or a Portland OTL/SOL at Providence

Manchester clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a win vs. St. John's, OR
(b) a Portland regulation loss at Providence, OR
(c) an OTL/SOL vs. St. John's AND either a Syracuse regulation loss at Albany or a Portland OTL/SOL at Providence

Portland clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a win at Providence AND either a Syracuse loss (reg/OT/SO) at Albany or a Manchester loss (reg/OT/SO) vs. St. John's, OR
(b) an OTL/SOL at Providence AND either a Syracuse regulation loss at Albany or a Manchester regulation loss vs. St. John's

Rochester clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a San Antonio regulation loss vs. Oklahoma City, OR
(b) a regulation decision in the Charlotte-Milwaukee game, OR
(c) a Houston loss (reg/OT/SO) or win by fewer than 9 goals vs. Texas

Milwaukee clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a point vs. Charlotte, OR
(b) a San Antonio regulation loss vs. Oklahoma City, OR
(c) a Houston loss (reg/OT/SO) vs. Texas

San Antonio clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a point vs. Oklahoma City, OR
(b) a Charlotte regulation loss at Milwaukee, OR
(c) a Houston loss (reg/OT/SO) vs. Texas

Charlotte clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a point at Milwaukee, OR
(b) a Houston loss (reg/OT/SO) vs. Texas

Houston clinches a playoff berth on Sunday with:
(a) a win by 9 or more goals vs. Texas, OR
(b) a win by 8 goals or fewer vs. Texas AND either a San Antonio regulation loss vs. Oklahoma City or a regulation decision in the Charlotte-Milwaukee game

That's insane for the final day of the season. Houston's scenario is especially nutty.

Milwaukee qualified for the 5th seed today with a 6-1 win over Charlotte in front of nearly 8000 fans. They will open at home on Friday night against Abottsford.

I see the AHL has adopted the terrible ECHL first round format that facors the underdogs.

Manchester wins the likely to get railed by Norfolk by finishing the weekend with 3 wins in 3 nights.

Not sure if I was a fan of the higher seends having to be on the road for some of these series for game 5

The higher seed gets the option of whether they want the series to go 2-3 or 2-2-1. So if they lose, it's not like the AHL scheduled it that way, they had the choice.

Is there a mileage rule?? I know in the E if they are after a certain amount of miles apart it's automatically a 2-3.

I know Norfolk has a 2-3 with only the first 2 at home cause the Scope is booked the night of a possible Game 5.

I hate this format. The higher seed gets their choice if the opponent is over 300 miles away - they can get the first two games at home or get the last 3 games at home. The series is 2-3, not 2-2-1.

So the Wolves picked to start in San Antonio. So where is the home ice advantage??
