Anyone else notice how our 2 goals came when we swapped Henrique with Zajac?
From what I saw in the last few minutes, Pete might actually make the change earlier in Tuesday's game.
ZZ-Kovy sucks. Z, and Z need Pops. Told you we should have traded for Langenbrunner at the deadline. Why the hell did we get rid of him in the first place?
Haha no but seriously he should have swapped the lines in the 2nd. I'm scratching my head at this game tonight seeing 17, 9, and 19 out there every time they were on the ice at the same time. This was by the 2nd. I figured we had to do something. Put Elias on a line with Kovy, or something. I even thought of Henrique.
If things get out of hand we might wanna see about splitting up Kovy, and Parise. Every time the lines are shaken up these two always find their way back to each other. You gotta do what you gotta do in the playoffs, and that might be something to ponder. Just a thought to entertain.
Like I said the beauty about the playoffs especially the first 2 games if you suck one night, then you could come back the next game. Florida did that tonight.
After 2 games, the one major thing I take from this series thus far is that neither team will give themselves a good opportunity to win if they don't each address a major problem. The Devils have been sub par in the specialty teams department and Florida is really rough around the edges in terms of even strength play.
I'm really not high on this Florida team at all. I just think they're way too lean 5 on 5 to present any real threat but here we are.
Considering that, I have to give Florida credit for being able to disrupt the Devils game thus far. When NJ has been on, they've really been on, but it's just been way too inconsistent. I won't say Florida has necessarily outplayed NJ, however, I can say they have been doing a better job of putting their stamp on the series in that they have really curbed NJ's attack for long stretches. They deserve credit for that. It's not NJ just playing like ****. I'd guess NJ is likely the more frustrated team at this time.
Whatever. The series is even, as it probably should be.

Definitely should be. No team should be able to show up one period per game and win. I can only hope this is a learning experience for the team and they realize they have to do better than 4 shots, 0 goals in the first period and 3 shots against and 1 goal allowed.
If our PK was half decent we might have at least tied this game up. Not faulting the 5 on 3, but that first one. Florida erupted, and took control after that.
That third goal though I don't know. That's a goal to me Marty has to have, and I'm not one to complain about his goals like everyone else. He's given up bad goals here, and there. Not much this second half of the season except games that were lost causes anyway where the rest of the team went home a period earlier.
In Marty's defense I notice if he's giving up a goal he should have had it's usually when the rest of the team has packed it in. At that point the team was not giving him any incentive to win the game.
Luckily this Sunday was filled with games of all kinds of bad goals. Even the Zajac goal was weird.
Marty's goal with any luck will not make the highlight reel of laughable goals when you see the ones Bryz, and Fleury gave up today.

Agreed on the one the other night. Gionta tripping? What the hell? Though the double minor for us where we scored shouldn't have been a double either.
Looked like a trip to me from Greene. The Clarkson penalty questionable. I don't fault the 5 on 3. If you can't score on a full 5 on 3 you probably suck.
Remember when the Bruins lost their first two (at home) in the first round to the Habs last year?
Remember how they won the Stanley Cup?
Relax, guys. Many of us acknowledged that the Panthers are no pushovers. I feel pretty confident that last night's win will be their only one of the series.
Whenever I feel bad about this loss, I just look at Vancouver and Pittsburgh and remember that the Devils aren't on the brink of elimination, at least not yet. Instant feel better-ness.
We played like crap for the first 40 minutes and almost came back from 3 goals down (damn IK + Parise at the end of the game on that same shift).
We won home ice advantage and that's all that matters. I didn't think we were going to sweep anyone, so I ain't worried. Our pp does need to get better and Parise needs to prove that he's a top player in this league when it matters the most cause he's been very average in the first two games.
Once again, the lack of shots and talent from our backend has us rushing offensively. Soft shots from the points are effective this time of year, as long as they hit the net but for whatever reason, our guys don't want to shoot/wrist it on net for a possible goal or rebounds. Weiss scored both of his goals of rebounds that came from point shots, granted it was on the PP but still, the point shots were the cause of both of his goals and we need Zidlicky and maybe Fayne to shoot on net a little more. Salvador, Volchenkov, Greene and Harrold shouldn't think twice about what to do and crank it on net or dump it back in the zone cause the longer they hold the puck, the bigger the chance of them turning the puck over.
