NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

Every team that makes the playoffs now can definitely win games. This isnít something we werenít prepared for.
We wanted to win tonight, we wanted a 2-0 lead going back to them, but weíre going to have to win games there. We have to take the good and learn from the bad.
- Brad Richards

We were trying to protect the lead. We had a few good shifts where we were in their end zone but, for the most part, we were trying to stop them from scoring and we were doing a little too much backing up and not enough forechecking.
- Marc Staal

Thereís always a natural tendency when you end up defending.
I thought we could have made some plays to try and keep some puck possession, but thatís what happens when you get into a little bit of that.
- John Tortorella

Gotta win this. If we don't, we aren't in a good spot.

Play our game and we will win! We have to respond physically though and let them know early we won't tolerate it.

Come on Kreider, show us what you got! I'm a big believer in him and hopefully he will make others believe in him too! That of course is if he is dressed, which if he isn't I will flip out!

We can take this one. Hopefully our boys come out with a fire lit under their ***** and dominate. Taking at least one in Ottawa is necessary.

Focus on the score board. In the end, it's the only thing that counts.

Let's go Rangers!

Been waiting almost 3 years to see Kreider in Ranger blue. A long time coming. Feeling good about this. I hope he lights it up, but if he won't it's still a huge first step in what will be a great career, no doubt.

I can't imagine a situation where the Rangers would be more fired up then they should be for this game.

I'm looking for a statement game from the whole team but most especially from Dubinsky & Stepan. Those guys had better rock.

Stepan has been more or less a non factor in his brief playoff career. That has to change now.

Dubi? Well, I just feel this a very big moment for him. Enough talk. Action, results, repeat. That simple. Better have a monster game.

I'd be fine with the projected lineup in the original post (Feds on the top line, Pack line, CK with Boyle and Pruster).

I'm also intrigued by the idea of Step on the left with Richards and Gaborik. That is something that hasn't been tried. I'm thinking reuniting him with Gaborik may re-ignite the guy. He played some fantastic hockey on a line with Gaborik earlier this year. It's amazing how cold he's gotten since then. We need to find a way to get him going.

I'm all about starting CK with Boyle on the 3rd line. Let him get over the early game jitters by playing him with guys that play a simple, grind-it-out kind of game. As the game progresses, we'll see how he looks (and how the team looks), and possibly move him around based on that.

15 hours till puck drop and I'm as anxious as I've been prior to a game all season. This needs to be a statement game. I want to channel all the emotions from the past day and a half into playing the most complete and focused game all year. I'm very confident that Torts will have them ready as ever.

I'm also smelling an all-world performance from Lundqvist. This is the time to do it!

Honestly, I think that ejection may be the best thing to happen to Dubinsky. He gets inside his own head too much. He's at his best when he's playing on emotion and not over-thinking every damned thing he does. He's always put in a great effort this season, but that ejection may have done what Torts has been trying to do all season--Piss Dubinsky off.

I expect big games from Dubi, Cally, and Rupper.

Oh, and Henrik too.

I want to crush them in every aspect of the game. Hits, shots, possession, and goals. No mercy.

I want to call a Dubinsky hat trick, but I can't figure out if it's going to be a regular or a Gordie Howe. He'll either do that or do something to get suspended, haha. Dude was PISSED.
