However, the arguments for and against acquiring Duchene are sometimes hilarious. Duchene is treated like an aging vet, while the equally young high potential players that he is proposed for are treated like toddlers that have amazing NHL skills. Mind blowing stuff.

I think it was in the lottery GDT thread. Some Oiler fan was comparing their stats and saying that if the Oilers need a new goalie then the Avs need a new goalie also.
You shouldn't judge a fan base from what the most delusional members think.
But generally, after three-four super ****** years, they are pretty invested in the current path taking them to greatness so they tend to overrate the impact prospects will have, more so than other fan bases.
That Eskimo44 character is quite amusing. I haven't seen someone so delusional and out of touch with reality since Zeus3007 claimed that Belanger is a better player than O'Reilly before the season started.
He's arguing that Dubnyk is just as good as Varlamov because he posted similar numbers playing behind a worse defense and at the same time he argues that Smid is clearly better than EJ and that Petry is as good as EJ who was our best defensman.
I also like how he included Hejduk in our core going forward, but Mueller isn't in that core because of injury issues, also there's no mention of Downie or McGinn.

The Thunder had the best record in the CHL this year and are in their Conference Finals, I went to tonight's game, an 8-1 drubbing they gave the Texas Brahmas, Bourret had 1g (SHG) and 2 assists and was named the 1st star of the game.
Anytime he was on the ice he looked dangerous, and was exceptionally fast and played with an edge, delivering some nice hits all game. The only knock I would say, is that he would sort of "cherry pick" in my opinion, always playing w/ part of his body slanted toward the offensive end of the ice.

I was dying to see Bourret in the NHL. Around draft time I think he was listed at 5'8" and well over 200lbs. I read his conditioning was bad and his attitude wasn't great, which made me want to see him play even more.
I was looking at Buffalos stats and it says that Hodgson played 63 games with the Canucks and 20 with the Sabres....They gave him an extra game?
That's entirely possible. With some teams (like the Avs) playing a lot of their games early and other (like the Sharks) playing a bunch late it's easy to see one player getting over 82 games if he were shipped from one team to the other. Pretty sure Daniel Winnik played 84 games this season.
