Then a pre-meditated mugging of a player should get more than one.

Completely different circumstances. Boyle knew it was coming! But in saying that I was expecting Carkner to get more games and do think that Shannahan should get replaced by someone who knows what hes doing.

I hope the rest of the series doesnt end up like pits-philly, but whats done is done and I hope the rangers arent aiming to take out karlsson or spezza since that will only create more of the same as game 2.

Lets play some hockey and leave out all the calls for cheap shot revenge on players who just want to make some nice plays and give us entertainment!

Poor Hagelin. Job'd by his boyhood Idol. Shame on you Alfie. No Wheaties box for you.

maybe Kreider has a great debut and it all works out in the end. Hags comes back and Mitchell takes a seat for Kreider. maybe.

If the Rangers appeal, does Hags play while the appeal is being considered(like MLB)?

If so, it's possible that the Rangers appealing leads to the league comes back in a few days with the same ruling and Hags then having to serve his 3 game suspension late in this series or early in the next series... which seems worse to me.

Rise above this nonsense, and beat the #8 seed of the playoffs like the best team in the East should.

I never met a bigger bunch of hypocrites than these Sens fans. At first, they defended the suspension by saying, "Hagelin got suspended because Alfredsson is hurt! Phillips didn't get suspended because Callahan isn't hurt!" Now after Shanahan said that, they are saying, "This is ********! Hagelin should be suspended three games for the intent, not the outcome of the hit!"

Phillips does make contact with the head, but the elbow was tucked in.

Nothing close to Hagelins flying chicken wing.

I wouldn't call Phillips hit an elbow, but he lunges at Cally's head.

If 'headshots' are what the NHL is trying to get rid of, then how on Earth is Phillips not suspended if Hagelin was.

NHL really ****ing things up

I am significantly more troubled by the lack of a suspension for Weber than I am for Phillips.

Cutting down on headshots?

Callahan's head was sticking out and Phillip's aims right for it.

Get out of here with that ****. This is a bad play that hasn't been getting recognition it should've in the face of you all crying about Karlsson and Alfie.

Unless the mugee is a New York Ranger.

The NHL rules on this are like the secret menu at IN N OUT Burger.

Don't let the Sens fans know! They'll cry about it even more and get Boyle suspended for letting Carkner mug him.

How quick do I get infracted if I start this BS on the Sens board?

Just curious.

Not sure why Senator fans are still coming here trying to say..well, anything really. Shut up, go back to your boards, and we'll see you tonight when it matters.

The crowd barely reacts. The player is fine. No elbow.

2 minute penalty was deserved.

Alfredsson flew back with the team and practiced. He's okay, no suspension was deserved.

Just because Cally isn't made of glass and isn't ancient and can (or at least appear to) shake it off doesn't mean he wasn't affected by it. Also I didn't realize the crowd dictated anything?

Hopefully not at all.

People are too sensitive on these boards, but if opposing fanbases can't have a little back and forth on a contentious topic then why bother even having message boards?

Love-ins with likeminded fans are boring.
