Bryz better not be injured.

As part of the black aces I assume? His contract ends in the summer, so we don't risk anything if he's claimed by someone else (why anyone would claim him at this point I don't know), right?

I think it's just to give the Pens a glimmer of hope, that perhaps, just maybe, they can still win the series if Leighton makes it into a game?
Of course just for the Flyers to pummel those hopes early and often on Wednesday.

Honestly there's no risk in calling him up since he is a UFA in the summer. Hope Bryzgalov isn't hurt.

This is simply for insurance, by calling him up now, who would claim him, but if he was truly needed, then some team could try and screw us over by claiming him.
It is much easier to recall him now, and yeah, he will just be a practice goalie unless there is an injury. This allows Bryz to rest on practice days but still give the rest of the team two goalies to shoot at and do full ice drills.

Meltzer tweeted something earlier about Leighton and some other guys being called up for "Black Aces" purposes. I don't know what that means but I think it is safe to say this is not due to an injury.

Relax peeps. The Phantoms season is over and the black aces are getting called up. Wont be surprised if Baca is also called up, obviously for insurance purposes only.
(Even if that is some ****** insurance)

Phantoms/Prospects who get the call to practice with the team (separately) just incase a player gets hurt.
For the most part, it's usually the players the team thinks is borderline NHL or has a future on the team

Meh. As long as it's for insurance purposes and not because Bryz has had a setback, this is fine.

It ain't Flyers Playoff hockey without Michael Leighton being involved somehow.

Perhaps, but I pray to Christ on high that this is the extent of it.

Can't believe I'm saying this but... Leighton is probably a better choice in the later rounds than Bob, even though you could build a city between his 5-hole.
