Squeaky Shin Guards

So here's a strange problem: My shin guards are squeaky as hell, and it's getting very annoying. I'm not at home so I forget exactly what model they are, but I think they're either Bauer One40s or Bauer One60s. Every time I take a step when I first put them on they creek something fierce. They seem to get quieter as I play, but it's so damn loud when I first put them on, I'm thinking about replacing them even though they're only a few months old.

haha maybe it's the knee cap rubbing against rim of the lower shell, because the rim has a layer of material over it to prevent abrasion.

My shin guards do the same thing when I first put them on. They are cheap bottom of the line eastons.

I just try to ignore it cuz after I start playing it either goes away. After the game I don't hear it either. I have always guessed that mine squeaked cuz I got them new and they aren't broken in that well yet/made cheaply.

I was going to try to put a piece of clear tape on the top of the lower shell to see if it would stop the noise (cuz I kinda was thinking what AIREAYE said) but I forgot about it until after I had my socks on. No clue if it would help or just make it worse. Just my .02 cents
