Brynäs is jinxed. The city of Gävle (where Brynäs plays) put up a big banner a long the highway outside the city - before the game had started. What did it say?
Silfverberg was extremely hot and it looked like he really wanted to win this for his team. He had 8 SOG in the game (Brynas had 27...)
It will be a real test of character to bounce back after a game like this.
Imagine if he had won the gold with the hat trick in OT. He would have been immortal in Gävle...

For Saturday's Game in NY:
Silfverberg-Spezza-Alfredsson
Foligno-Turris-Michalek
Greening-Smith-Neil
Winchester-Konopka-Condra
I'm hoping that in 5 years we have those three lines with Stone in for Alfie, and our 2011 first rounders as the other line
They said on the team this morning that 24 hours after thier playoffs end he will likely be in Ottawa, and most likely start possibly only third line but he'll probably move to first and second and around the line up tbh. It's seems to be what happens.0

If I'm not mistaken if Silfverberg nets another one he will break Alfies SEL playoff scoring record. I must say Silf showed in my opinion a negative side yesterday, locking himself out from the media after the game and when eventually speaking with them he only chose one outlet (expressen, they have been at the top of the Silf messiah hype)
A Canadian btw, if Bud Holloway gets another point he'll champion the record for most playoff points in the SEL.

Maclean indicated that he would rather go with guys who have been playing all year and know the system but given out state it would be hard to believe him not inserting him in the lineup

I agree with not inserting unknowns in the lineup easily... but he has been flat out the best player in the Swedish Elite League all season... he gets inserted and Maclean has no issues with it... special circumstances... he will have a bit of a short leash but if he is playing well he will get lots of ice time.
I'm going to keep any eye on this and hope to be surprised.....but I just don't see McLean going to him. Too much of a gamble. Maybe if the team really needed a boost but if his season were to only end today or tomorrow, he would be able to get over to the team before the end of the week and that would be a huge rush and too much pressure to throw him into Game 5 on the road.
Would be quite a story though and a real treat to see him play.
An article from aftonbladet yesterday about Silfverberg on the Stanley Cup and WC. Also bolded a part which I stated a month ago or so in a previous thread and I was shot to pieces by several posters
for claiming it If Silfverberg really wants to, he will go. Mårts will let him do whatever he wishes.

Instead, it may be the Stanley Cup playoffs for Jacob Silfverberg, 21.
- I know that Ottawa would have on Jacob, and we should have a dialogue about it, says coach Pär Mårts.
This summer, wrote Jacob Silfverberg in a three-year contract with the Ottawa Senators with the requirement that during the first year to be loaned to Brynäs.
Even today, Brynäs safe SM-gold and then Ottawa has the right to use Silfverberg in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
But this requires that the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and head coach Par Mårts leave the go-ahead.
- Yes, it is true. We own the issue, and Jacob and Ottawa must get approval from us, says Mårts.
Mårts planning session
With the game Silfverberg shown up during the season he would be a key player in the World Cup, but Mårts does still not mean that he will approve the Brynäs striker may continue the season in Ottawa.
- When the SM-final is over, we sit down with James and tell us what we want and how we see things. For us it is also important to know what Jacob himself wants to do.
Hungry for both
Jakob Silfverberg has not decided whether he will connect to Ottawa after SM-finals.
- No, I do not know what happens. Both the World Cup and the Stanley Cup would be fun, but there will be an issue when the season is over, he says.
Ottawa meets the New York Rangers (1-1 in matches before the night's meeting) in the first round of the Stanley Cup. Would Silfverberg go to Ottawa and the team go far in the playoffs, it means that he is not available for World Cup games.
