And why couldn't he stand on his head for the remainder of the playoffs? Cam Ward did it in 05-06. Both Fleury and Osgood did it in 07-08. Osgood did it again in 08-09.
Only he couldn't. As the Wings proved.

Saying Ducks had NO chance at the cup is laughable. Saying Kings do based on Quick playing well and Canucks giving out SH goals like candy is too. You're saying they have a chance to win the Cup based on one series but refuse to say the same about the Ducks due to hindsight.

I am not basing it off this current series. An argument can be made that if you could time warp, that the 08 Ducks could take this years Kings in a 7 game series. I still don't think the Ducks had a chance at the cup that year even after getting by us and I think the Kings do this year, especially now, since it looks like they are destined to get past the Nucks.
And .927 is not .943. The Wings got 15 goals past him in the last 4 games. Either you're saying Hiller was still great and the team sucked or Hiller came back down to earth. Can't have it both ways.
Why do the Kings have a chance this year? And why didn't the Ducks?
Having a chance at the Cup means getting to the finals. You don't think they would've beaten a young Chicago team if they won that game 7 against Detroit?

I can't explain exactly why I feel that way. That was years ago and I felt that way at the beginning of the PO's and after. How would I even know who they would play except the Sharks going into the PO's, so saying I agree they would have beat the Hawks is as meaningless as you arguing they could have beat the Wings, because they didn't.
And a chance at the cup means also beating the east. I don't think the league was at the parity level it is today and I didn't then and don't now think the Ducks had a shot. Due to the parity now, I do think the Kings at least have a shot.
Personally, I am not really impressed with the Kings. I think both the Blues/Sharks are perfectly capable of beating them, not to mention Nashville.
But yeah, at least we get to agree to disagree, rather than making a two word statement.
It was a three word statement and you started it with your 3 word reply to my post. I was just voicing my general opinion until I felt you got curt with me, so I responded in kind. But you're right. It's better that it's hashed out and we can just agree to disagree now.

That was an elite team that vastly underachieved during the regular season because of goaltending issues that no one saw coming. Of course, those issues were fixed by the time the playoffs rolled around.
That Ducks team was an 8th seed in name only. They were loaded on defense (Pronger, Niedermayer, Whitney, Beauchemin, Wisniewski) and were practically the same team that won the Cup in 2007.
honestly, that flyers pens game was kind of stupid. They werent even playing hockey most of that game, which is unfortunate because they are two very skilled hockey teams. I like the rough stuff as much as the next guy but some of that was just stupid.
I think you've been watching too much Western Conference hockey and your perspective is warped. That Pens-Flyers game was one of the most entertaining hockey games of the year, even if you cut out the chippyness.
After watching that game, the Kings-Nucks game felt like a root canal.

I didnt say it wasnt entertaining, just that it was out of hand. Especially with Asham and Neal running around like its the movie slapshot.
The Detroit/Nash series reminds us of ours so much.
edit: Commentator just said "You get the feeling all of Detroits shots are being shot with a tip or deflection in mind. It's like they're not ever trying to score on the initial shot."

GEE WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE?
Its funny because I see so much of the Sharks in the current Detroit system. The PP looks identical to ours.

Yet our coach is an idiot and Babcock is the best coach on the planet.
